Janice's Birthday

Tomorrow is my sister-in-law Janice's birthday.
Here's the card that I have made for her.

Now Janice loves red, so the colour was easy to choose - Real Red!!
I haven't done a red on red card before, so was anxious as to the result.
I needn't have worried as it turned out fine.
I embossed the second layer of red card with the Mosaic Embossing Folder.
Once again I have used the Gingham Wheel - it's proving to be a favourite.
I also used the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing folder
I die cut the initial and stuck it onto an Artisan Label punched shape.
The flower was made using the fabulous flower mold and Simply Pressed Clay-
these are so simple to make - Lexie (age 6) has made quite a few already!
The leaves were punched with the Bird Builder punch.
A few Basic Rhinestone embellishments and job done!
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Janice.

More Mosaic Madness

I can see already that I am going to really get my money's worth out
of this stamp set, punch and embossing folder
(Wish I could bring myself round to actually cutting into the matching paper!!)

Colour combo - Strawberry Slush and White
Stamp set - Mosaic Madness - matching punch and Embossing Folder
Basic Rhinestones.
I love it!!

Stippled Blossoms

Here's a card that I have cased from Pinterest.
It has been re-pinned a few times so I am not sure of it's original owner.
If it's yours, please let me know and I will link this post back to your blog.
but I do love it!!

Colour Combo is Sahara Sand and Raspberry Ripple with White.
I embossed the oval frame in the bottom RH corner with the
Textured Impressions Designer frames Embossing Folder-
notice there are no unsightly visible lines where the folder was!
Chris and I have spent quite some time practising this technique.
I stamped the fern spray from Papaya Collage and punched it out using
the Extra Large Oval punch.
I used the Very Vintage wheel for the background at the top of the card.
The flowers are two step stamped with the Stippled Blossoms stamp set.
Leaves punched using the Bird Builder punch.
3/8" stitched satin ribbon in Raspberry Ripple
Voila!!

New Designer Series Paper stack and the Open Sea.

Because I recruited 2 people in May, I could choose a free gift from 2 items
in the New Catalogue.  I chose the 4 colour families Designer Series Paper Stacks.
(These have a value of £19.50 each - so my "free" gift was worth £78!)

I have used thin (2.5 cm wide) strips from the Night of Navy DSP in the Regals DSP stack
to make the long pennants behind the ship image (from "The Open Sea" stamp set).
This was stamped in Night of Navy, onto a die cut white circle,
then layered on top of a Night of Navy circle.
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners and cut out with the matching Framelet die.

Sneak Peek - Washi Tape

Today I have had a play with the new Washi tape that is in the new catalogue
(launches 2nd July!)
This card was so quick to make, if you need a card in a hurry
(which I often do!!) this is fine.

Colour Combo is mainly Daffodil Delight with Strawberry Slush.
The sentiment is that good old faithful - Curly Cute
which sadly retires at the end of the month.
Love this splash of colour - so cheerful.

Gingham wheel and Vellum

Today's card features another sneaky peek of a new product from the new catalogue
(launches on 2nd July!), the Gingham wheel.  It also lets you see two of the new
colours - Pistachio Pudding and Smoky Slate, and another stamp from the
Label Love stamp set and matching punch - Artisan Label.
Think that everything else you have seen before.

I've taken another picture this afternoon (Tuesday) in natural light.
I think that you can just see the embossed stitching done with the
Textured Impressions Needlepoint Border Embossing folder.
The leaves are cut in vellum with the Little Leaves Sizzlit.
I saw this card on Pinterest and fell in love with it,
so had to case it froMiriam's blog here

Lexie's been at it again!!

Well Lexie had made up for my inactivity on the crafting front.
No crafting got done Friday as it was Lady captains away day at the Oaks Golf club near York.
It was a fabulous day and the weather was kind - only one proper shower got our 4 ball, but the ladies nearer the end got a heavier shower!
Yesterday Lexie was with me all day crafting, whilst Lucas and Barry went golfing with Simon.
Everyone was back for a late tea, then we relaxed in front of the TV for a while and then Lexie was back in the craft room.  She has made a card for her dad for Fathers Day, a card for her mum
-as she has missed her this weekend (Kerry has had a girlie's weekend at a hen party!)
She also did a painting and a bracelet for her mum.
Here it is

Not bad for a second attempt is it!
She loves making jewellery, so we have sorted her out a box full  of beads just for her.

Lexie's Bracelet

Today my Grand-daughter Lexie has been with me after school
(Lucas has been with me too,  but he is watching the cricket on TV!)
so I asked her if she wanted to have a go at making a bracelet like mine.
Not content with the beads that Chris had sent her, she insisted
on looking through my selection of beads and selected a few to use.
You may have guessed that she is a very pink girl!
She made this bracelet all by herself - my only contribution
was to fasten the ends in a tight knot!

Lexie took this photo of her bracelet

I took this photo of Lexie wearing her bracelet!

Wednesday 12 June 2013

My first bracelet.

Well here is another first for me - a bracelet.
I have been to Chris's (sis-in-law) today and she showed me how to make a bracelet
- and here it is!!

I am so proud of it, I can't wait to have another go,
so I have ordered some bits and bobs off t'Internet and will be showing
Lexie how to make one either tomorrow or Saturday.
(Chris has very kindly sent some beads and a charm for her to make her first bracelet too.)

Happy Day

This is the card I have sent for my Postcrossing - Handmade card swap.
It is the last one until after the summer.

I really enjoyed making this card.
Simple monochrome Black and White colour combo.
The flowers are made with White Simply Pressed Clay,
using the Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay molds
and the black one has been coloured with a Stampin' Write Marker.
I layered the flowers on top of flowers punched with the Boho Blossom punch.
The doily is made using the Large paper Doily Sizzlit die.
The centre has been stamped in Basic Black on white using the Happy Day stamp set
punched using the 2.3/8" scallop circle and layered on top of a Black punched 2.1/2" circle.
The "smile" sentiment is from the same set.
The gingham strip has been stamped using the new Gingham Stampin Around Wheel.
Doesn't this look really effective!
The black leaves were punched using the Bird Builder Punch.
Embellishments - basic Rhinestones.

More Mosaic Madness.....

Have had chance to play with a couple of things from the New Catalogue
which launches on 2nd July.  As a SU Demo I can pre-order selected items
from this a month before launch.  Here's what I've made using the
Mosaic Madness Stamp set and with matching Punch and Embossing Folder.

Simple colour combo of Soft Sky (new colour - Subtles family) and White.
the tiny flowers are punched using the Itty Bitty shapes punch set,
embellishments are Basic Rhinestones and 1/2" Whisper White Stiched Grosgrain Ribbon.
Sentiment is from Apothecary Art.
Mmmmm - I will get a lot of use out of these matching items.
Pop back tomorrow and see more!

Another Telford Project

Here's the third of my Telford Display projects.

This started life as a cheap wooden wall plaque.
I heat embossed the edges with gold embossing powder - taking care not to set fire to the wood!!
I then stamped and  heat embossed the little teddies and duck with gold EP too.
I stamped and embossed LUCAS's name in gold and then punched out the
letters using the Artisan label Punch.
I punched out Lucas's baby photo with the same punch and layered this onto Brushed Gold card.
which I then fussy cut  round the lable shape.
This was then glued onto a  flower made with the Blossom punch.
I stamped the sentiment using the Label Love stamp set and heat embossed in gold
then punched with the Artisan Label punch and glued onto a Blossom punched flower.
I tied little ribbon knots onto the rope with Whisper White 1/4" stitched Grosgrain
ribbon and 7/16" Natural Trim ribbon.
Once again - it's a project that's outside my comfort zone, but I was very pleased with the result!

Saturday 8 June 2013

Calendar/Post it note Wallet.

Here's another of my projects for the Telford display.
This little project is one that I have made before, but I wanted to showcase the
Label Love stamp set and the Artisan Label punch.

Inside view - open

The backing paper is from the Print Poetry DSP Stack.

Telford Display - Scrapbook Page

Here's the scrapbook page of my niece's wedding day, that I made for my display table at Telford
last month - using the Label Love stamp set and the Artisan Label punch.

Colour combo is Black, White and Brushed Silver
The Morning Post Alphabet stamp set  was used for Emma and Tony's names.
I used the Lattice Bigz die for the two corners embellished with Basic Rhinestones.
Butterflies were cut in Silver and White using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die .
This is the very first scrapbook page that I have ever made - I am quite proud of it!

Mosaic Madness

Something totally new to show you today.
A thank you card that I received from Stampin' Up!
A couple of weeks before we attended the Telford Event in May, I received a phone call
from Stampin'Up!, asking if I would like to join the display team, making a few projects
with BRAND NEW PRODUCTS from the 2013/2014 Annual Catalogue.
Can you guess what my reply was?  Of course I said yes!
I will post pictures of my projects over the next few days for you to have
a sneak peek at the items that I got to play with.
Meanwhile - here is the card that they sent me after the event.

Here you can see the Modern Mosaic Embossing folder used on White card stock.
One of the banners is cut from the Quatrefancy Speciality DSP
the other smaller banner has been stamped using the new Mosaic Madness
stamp set with one of the new 2013-2015 In Colours - Strawberry Slush!
The little flower has been made using White Simply Pressed Clay that has been coloured using a
re-inker, kneaded to make the colour smooth then shaped using
the Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Molds.
The thank you has been stamped in Strawberry Slush ink onto a
Labels Collection Framelits Die cut White Label.
So you have seen a sneak peek of a few new products today - watch this space for more!!

Chris (sis-in-law) and I are off up to Pudsey for our Monthly Training morning
and here is the card that I will be taking for her.

Colour combo is Primrose Petals and White.
The border and sentiment are computer generated.
The larger heart is a doily from the Artisan Embellishments kit.
The smaller heart is from the More Amore Speciality DSP.
The small hearts are punched in Primrose Petals card stock
and the only tiny embellishment is a Basic Rhinestone.
All the best in your new home, Julie and family!!

Best of Flowers

Sorry for going AWOL, but I just couldn't resist making the most of the fabulous weather
we have had over the past few days.
Barry and I have enjoyed a long lazy weekend and spent Sunday and Monday
golfing with another 22 members of the Monday Club!
Barry did quite well and won some money for being 4th on Sunday,
then won some more for being nearest the pin on one of the holes.
I won nothing!  So I took consolation in treating myself to a new pair of lightweight golf shoes!!
I am trying them out tonight when I play with the Sandhill ladies.
That said - I have got a card to show you!

Colour combo is Baja Breeze - soon to retire! Soft Suede and Whisper White.
The background uses the Summer Silhouettes stamp set.
This card features a brand new stamp set that is available now and features
stamps from "The best of 25 Years"  This month's set is called "Best of Flowers"
Here's what it's all about
" For our 25-year anniversary, we’re bringing back some of our favourite stamp images
from the last quarter century and combining them into five sets,
which will release— one set per month—until October 2013.
Even better, along with some great classic images,
each “Best of” set will also include a never-before-seen image!"
