Janet's Birthday

It is my friend (and ex work colleague)Janet's birthday next week.
I will be seeing her tonight when a few of us have our quarterly get together,
we meet, have a meal and a general catch up!
As this card has pearls on it, it won't travel well in the Royal Mail,
so I will give Janet the card tonight, with instructions not to
open it until her birthday!
I can safely post this today as Janet doesn't craft and doesn't read blogs.

Janet likes blue, so I chose Soft Sky and White as the colour combo for this card
and I did the same design as the Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay card you have already seen.
(You may gave already noticed this!!)
The stamp sets used are Flower Shop and Chalk Talk,
the Friend sentiment is from a retired Hostess stampset.
The only embellishments are large Basic Pearls-
as I think that's all it needs!
Happy Birthday Janet.

Sympathy cards.

Yesterday was the funeral of my Auntie, who passed away at the good old age of 88.
Uncle Les died last August and Aunty Hilda just didn't wan't to carry on without him.
So they are re-united again, and leave behind 3 sons - my cousins.
I made each one a sympathy card, all with the same images, but in different colours.
(Needless to say I had to make these specially as I didn't have any made in advance
 - which I do try to do!)
So here they are.

Perfect Plum on Very Vanilla

Night of Navy and White

White and Night of Navy

I cut out an acetate template using one of the Floral Frames Framelits dies.
Placed it on top of my 5"x5" card and then stamped the background using En Francais stampset.
I then got a small piece of sponge and teased the excess ink off the acetate around the
border of the template onto the card, giving a nice neat edge.
I then used one of the Flowering Flourishes stamps at the top,
and the "Thinking of You" sentiment from Hopeful thoughts stamp set underneath.
I have to say that I was pleased with the effect and will now make a couple  more
ready for when needed next time - they are never easy to make.

I'd like to enter these in
Aud Sentiments Challenge 85 - Sympathy

Chris's card for Barry

On Wednesday when I went to Christine's she made her card to send to Barry,
whilst I was making Ashley's card.
Here's what she made

Colour combo Marina Mist and White
Papers from the Subtle DSP Stack,
stars from the Simply Stars stampset.
Great job Chris!!

Wednesday 24 July 2013

Thank you Ashley

I have been over to Chris's today for a crafting session and made a Thank you card for Ashley.
She was so kind with Lucas and Lexie on Monday, when they went over there to see Ashley's
horses.  Archie was away at driving school (learning to pull a carriage!) so they groomed and rode on John Jo, had a picnic and then did a bit of poo picking before coming home!! Ashley was so kind and patient with them both, so I just wanted to say thank you.

We used Subtles Designer series Paper stack and cut pennants from the Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette, then stamped on  two strips with the mesh stamp from Summer Silhouettes in Blushing Bride Ink. Made a ribbon with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch in White,
layered on Pink Pirouette card stock.
I stamped out the pansy from the Morning Meadow Hostess stamp set
using Blushing Bride ink then punched it out with the Pansy punch.
The sentiment is from the Oh Hello stampset.
All products are Stampin' Up!

------------------.

Thought that I would add these piccies of the kids at work and play with Ashley -
they are both going to do some journalling, using these pictures and describing the day they had.
Thanks again Ashley - you made their day!

A little bit of grooming

Got to rub really hard!!

Got to have clean feet!!

All togged up and ready for the off!

Doesn't Lexie look tiny on top of John-Jo

Lucas's turn now!

Lexie likes to be included at all times!!

Flower shop

Today I have opened a pack of the new Crushed Curry card stock.
Inspired by the colours of the  Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper,
I decided to use the same colour combo -
Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana and White.

The stamp sets used are Flower Shop (used with the Pansy punch) a
and Chalk Talk (used with the matching framelets and the 1.3/8" circle punch.
The flower centres are cut with the 1/2" circle punch, then shaped.
Only embellishments are Basic Rhinestone.
Yummy - good enough to eat!!

Hello Doily Christmas

This is the last of the three Christmas cards made using non Christmas stamps.

The stamp here is Hello Doily and the colour combo is
Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and White.
The Merry Christmas sentiment is from a retired Hostess stamp set,
but the New Year sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
All products are Stampin' Up!
Really enjoyed making these cards!

Merry Minis

I had forgotten that I had this stamp set and matching punch, so felt guilty that I had hardly used it.

This card measures 10 cm square, so you can see how tiny these little stamped
Christmas tree are - they are approx 15mm high!!
I do think that they are cute.
The trees are stamped in Always Artichoke and Night of Navy-
these are from the Merry Minis stamp set and are cut out with the matching punch.
The star punch is from the same set of punches and is c punched with Silver Glimmer Paper.
the little pot is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and is from the Pennant Parade stamp set.
Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

And another non Christmas stamp Christmas card.

Here's the second of three cards that I made at Chris's yesterday
making a Christmas card with a non Christmas stamp.

A very quick and easy card to make -
Colour combo is Night of Navy, Soft Sky and White.
I used Delicate Doilies stamp set, inked the images in Versamark
and then heat embossed them with White embossing powder.
I then inkdusted over the paper with Night of navy and Soft Sky ink.
I then buffed up the card with a paper towel,
which took off the excess ink and made the white pop out.
The Sentiment is from Greetings of the Season stamp set and I inked
one of the doily images up with Soft Sky.
Simple white grosgrain ribbon, fastened with a knot completes the card.
Love it!!

Non Christmas stamp Christmas card

Been to Chris's today and we made a few Christmas cards using Non-Christmas stamps.
Here's the first one

I think that it has quite a contemporary feel to it -
and it's definitely not one that Barry would like.
He likes to see traditional red green and gold for Christmas cards,
whereas I like the non traditional colours.
Colours used - Night of Navy, Soft Sky and White
the stamp set used is Daydream Medallions and the embossing folder is
Textured Impressions Delicate Designs .
Instead of ribbon we used a strip of silver glimmer paper
and added a few Basic Rhinestones.
Final touch was a spritz with shimmer spray  and a vintage button - mmm I like it!!

but usually I am frantically trying to make him a card the night before.

Night of Navy and White colour combo.
Morning Post Alphabet stamp set used for name
Regals Designer Series paper Stack punched with the Hexagon punch.
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.
The stars are punched out using Silver Glimmer Paper.
I am really pleased with this.
I can safely post this as Barry doesn't blog, so won't see it.

Lexie's love hearts.

Today I have spent a few hours with Lucas and Lexie,
Lucas has gone to his cricket match, so Lexie has been crafting.
Here are the love heart embellishments she has made today.

She punched out the hearts and the circles and glued them together,
I put the impact adhesive onto the glass pebbles and then Lexie stuck these on top.
She has also written in her journal .

Well done Lexie

Sponge and Spritz

Chris is back from holiday now, so we had our usual play day together!
I have really missed her whilst she has been away, so it was good to have her back
and we have had a good old play today.
One of the techniques we tried out today was featured on Splitcoaststampers
and it's called "sponge and spritz"
Here's the two cards I made

This is sponged and spritzed

This is sponged, but I forgot to spritz!! Doh!!

Happy Birthday Simon!

You can always tell when the weather is fabulous - I go missing from my blog and can be found either on the golf course or in the garden, or simply walking!!
So apologies for not being here for you over the past couple of days,
will try harder!!
Tomorrow is my son Simon's birthday and here's my CAS card for him-
cased unashamedly from Joanne Press' blog

The star is made using the Pennant Punch with the new Brights Designer Series Paper Stack-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE

Today is my Stampin' Up! Mummy, Julie's birthday who is so kind to us, her team of Jems,
so I wanted to make her day very special by using my favourite stamp for her birthday card -
as it's a special birthday for her - can you guess why?

My favourite stamp is the flourishes from Creative elements.
I use this one stamp so much that the pattern has almost rubbed off the top!!
I heat embossed the flourishes with silver EP and then coloured in the little leaves
and buds with Coastal Cabana (or Copacabana as Julie calls it!)
The 40 is from Memorable Moments stamp set - also heat embossed in silver,
as the sentiment from Petite Pairs.
Hope that she like it!
Have a great birthday Julie!!
