Eileen's sketch card

Last week, one of my Tuesday Class ladies, Eileen, showed me a sketch of a card she had made using one of her favourite In Colours, Blushing Bride. I set about following the sketch and her details and this is what I came up with - it met with her approval. I used the In Colours DSP Stack, Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride cardstock, the leaves are made using the Bird punch and flowers using one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches, finished off with tiny Basic Pearls.

Reflection

Last week I had a play at making a reflection card and I was pretty impressed with the results.
I used the beautiful Lovely as a Tree stampset and set about colouring in with the direct to paper sponging technique, using various coloured inkpads to create the lake and the sky.
I am not in the least bit artistic, just crafty!, but think that this is tres chic for a beginner.

Cute by the inch

This is a stampset that I was really drawn to and I had to have it straight away. I used it for swaps at a training day last year and them promptly forgot about it.
The other day, as I was browsing through some swaps that I had received I came upon this design by Alison Reddall (no blog address I am afraid)but thanks for the inspiration Alison. I really love the colour combination.
Cardstock and stamp pads Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White. Stampsets - Cute by the inch, Baroques Motifs and Tiny Tags.

If you've been missing my postings - then I do apologise - three days of golfing have prevented me from spending time crafting. It really is difficult in Summer to fit in all the things that I want to do. Yesterday Sandhill hosted the District final of the YLCGA Ladies Foursomes, so whilst I didn't actually play, I was at the Club from 7:00 a.m. til 5:30 p.m. making sure that everything went smoothly for the ladies involved. I was exhausted!!

Janice's birthday

Today is my Sis-in-law Janice's birthday and she loves all things red, so I have done her name , complete with flowers in Cherry Cobbler and punched out black leaves using the bird and branch punch. Barry and I are going out for dinner tonight with Janice, Christine and David, to celebrate the occasion.

Plane and simple

Liz, one of my Wednesday crafting ladies recently purchased this stampset and asked for ideas for this, so I have trawled various SU blogs and found a few examples that were CASEworthy!! This was based on a card from Jenny Moors blog

Greenhouse Garden revisited

My Wednesday Class requested that we make a card using the Greenhouse Garden stampset, cased from the card that Chris(sis-in-law) made me for my 60th.
This is what I came up with.
Colour Combo is So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke. I used the (now retired) Tea and Crumpets DSP and the butterflies are from the Flight of The Butterfly stampset. Leaves are punched in Always Artichoke using the Large bird punch. Don't know whether you can see the detail, but I have spritzed Frost white Shimmer paint on both the flowers and the Computer generated sentiment. I have added Champagne Glass Glitter to the centres of the flowers.
My Wednesday ladies were well pleased with this.

Kimono Kids again

Once I started playing with this stampset, I couldn't resist having another go - this time I used the colour combo of Poppy Parade and Concord Crush - think that this looks really rich.

Bashful Blue - Just for you

Here's a card for someone special - using the inked embossing folder technique. I think it gives a rather distressed look to the card.
I have used Bashful Blue stamp pad on Whisper White with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The frame is stamped using one of the Four Frames stamps and the sentiment is from Just Believe. Finished off with Whisper White Satin ribbon.
Mmmmmmm,,,,,,,

Lady Captain's Day 2011

Tempis Fugit and all that - it seems such a short time since it was my Lady Captain's Day, but here we are a year ahead and it's Jan's turn.
Here are some of the piccies from todays outing - and remember we had to play golf in these outfits!!

Sailaway

Morning everyone. It looks a bit grey and miserable here - hoping for better weather tomorrow , it's Lady Captain's Day so I hope that it is a good day for golfing!
Meanwhile, here's the card that Christine (sis-in-law) and I did on Wednesday.
I used the Very Vintage Wheel on Crumbcake CS as a background. Stamped the boat onto Whisper White and coloured the water with a Baja Breeze wash, the sails with Crumbcake. Then distressed all the edges and inked them with Soft Suede. and punched a border using the Spiral border punch. Knotted some Linen thread around the card - it just finishes it off nicely I think. Another man's card done!

Kimono Kids

I have resisted the Kimono Kids stampset until now, so now that I have it I intend to make good use of it! Here's my first attempt using a colour combo of Pretty in Pink and Basic Black with a touch of Baja Breeze. The sentiment s from Pocket Silhouettes.

Cousin Josie's sympathy card

We only found out yesterday that cousin Josie's husband (Tom) died at the weekend, so having used the Hopeful Thoughts stampset recently, thought that I would do a sympathy card using this.
Colour Combo is Basic Black, Whisper White and Sahara Sand - used the inkdusting technique again.

Hopeful Thoughts

I do love this stampset and use it for both sympathy cards and get well cards plus the occasional "Thinking of you" card. It lends itself to all of these.
This is the card I have made for my fellow Jem, Evelyn, who is going in hospital today, so I hope that it cheers her up.
The colour combo is Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Old Olive and Whisper White - not a combo I have used together before, but I quite like it - don't you?

Rogers birthday

Couldn't resist making this personalised card for our friend Roger who's 70 tomorrow.
I used Party this way stampset to make the bunting, and used the Vintage Type rub-ons to personalise both the owls and the bunting. I opted for wiggly eyes instead of the punched ones (but they reflect the light when you try to photograph them). I used the Perfect Polka dots to add texture to the owls' waistcoats and used Linen thread to hang the bunting.

Naughty Kate

I have been a naughty blogger for not posting these last few days, but I am sorry, and will try harder to post more regularly. I won';t bore you with excuses, but you may well understand if I tell you that I have not even managed to fit in my usual crafting day with Chris (s-i-l)! I have however done quite a few rounds of golf in the last fortnight and am playing in my son's Captain's Day on Saturday, so I will try to make amends after that and get back into a routine.
