My 9th Stampin Up Anniversary.

Last Thursday I celebrated my 9th  Anniversary
as a Stampin' Up ! Demonstrator.
My how the years have flown.
It has been a fabulous journey and |I have met many friends
along the way - too many to mention!
The driving force behind this has always been my Stampin Up Mummy,
Julie Kettlewell, who has always been there for me, helping, guiding and advising me,
as I made this exciting journey.
Here is the card that Julie sent me to celebrate the occasion.

Thank you Julie for always being there when I need you, every step along the way.
Heres to the next 9!!

Liz next door's card.

Well tonight I have a valid excuse for being late posting,
we have been round to our neighbours, Liz's house
for food n drink to celebrate her birthday which was yesterday,
As it has been a lovely day, we had this celebration outdoors and have had a lovely time.
Here's the card I made for her

Dont think that you can see the beautiful frosted finish on this DSP but it is gorgeous!
Its  from the Frosted Floral Suite in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue,
which launches on the 5th! Soon be here!!
You have seen this design before, its getting to be a favourite of mine
as it doesnt take too long to die cut the two roses (Botanical Tags Thinlits)then
theFrosted Floral  DSP is a 2" strip and I used the Banner triple punch
for a really nest finish at the bottom.
I had to use one of the scalloped Layering Ovals - as I cant find
my set of Stitched Shapes Framelits at the moment !
The cardstock is Gorgous Grape - yummy!!
I think this looks a million dollars!!

Lucas's Get well card.

I got a phone call from Kerry late Sunday afternoon to let us know that Lucas
had been admitted to hospital with suspected appendicitis.
He had the operation in the early hours of Monday morning.
and was allowed home early Monday evening.
Apparently here is a 2 week recovery period and he has to rest,
and not do anything strenuous - this means no golf!!
Lucas will struggle with the rest bit - he is just never still,
so he will find it hard!
Anyhow - here's the card I made for him.

Very clean and simple just a layer of DSP, two mats of Basic Gray,
two mats of Pool Party and two mats of  White.
Then the Get Well Siin stamped on White and layered first on Pool Party,
then onto Basic Gray.

After I had photographed this, I decided to stick some Black
Rhinestone Jewels top left and bottom right -
forgot to take another photo, but I am sure you can visualise!!
Apparently he is being very good and resting, watching TV in bed.
He has to take things easy for 2 weeks , so wont be going back to school on the 5th!!!!

Elizabeth's Birthday card

Yesterday was my old school friend Elizabeth's birthday,
we go back more years than I care to admit, and I am ashamed to say it
but I was really getting panicky about not getting her card done in time.
Chris came to the rescue yesterday when I said that I had to make a get well card
for grandson Lucas as well as Elizabeth's card.  Bless her -
she invited me to take one of her stash of cards, rather than
spoil a card b rushing.
Here's the one that I chose.

Its from the "Lots of Happy" kit, but Chris, like me, has improvised
the design using the bits and pieces in the kits, so that each one is different.
Chris has added stampin on to the base card
I have this kit so I will be copying this card myself later and
and probably making  another card for Chris - as a thank you!

PS- Barry hand delivered this card to Elizabeth for me when I got home from Chris's!!
Alls well that ends well!!

PPS I'll show you the card I made for Lucas tomorrow.

118 days to Christmas

118 days to Christmas and counting!!

Talking about how many days to Christmas reminded me
of a project I made some years ago with Lexie,
its a decorated tin with numbers that have magnets on the back -
so you can count down to Christmas!
This is my tin that I made at a monthly training event,
or it may have been a quarterly training.
Anyhow when Lexie saw it, she wanted to make her own, which she did.
Precious moments!!

On the next photo you can see it is an actual tin.

I am going to stick to my aim of making a card a day and putting them in the tin!!
Wonder how long I can last?

Dashing Deer Bundle

Did you know there are only 119 days to Christmas?
Just thought that I would share that - I could have all my cards made if I
only make one card a day from now til Christmas - now that is a thought!!
Here's a sneak peek of another Dashing Deer stamp set card,
using the Detailed Deer Thinlits as well.
Also featuring the Blizzard Thinlits dies - used to emboss the background
by using with the Big Shot Embossing mats - page 221 of the Anual catalogue.
Hope you can see the detail.

Have used Real Red and White cardstock, Red Foil card and Red Glimmer card.

I do love this set - will make real good use of it!!

You may recall that I did a  new baby boy card for my golfing teacher
Danny and his wife, I said that I would like to do one for a newborn girl.
One of my monthly Saturday ladies, Carol started her card last month,
and finished it yesterday.
She is very happy to share this with us - here it is!!

With Sympathy - and a sneak peek

When I went to the Hairdressers yesterday, Katy (the hairdresser) was really distressed.,
and told me that her Grandfather had died in the early hours of the morning.
She insisted on staying at work and doing her morning appointments, but was going home later.
When I got home I made this card for her, and Barry hand delivered this card too!

I used two of the new colours cardstock, Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel.
I embossed the Balmy Blue card with the "Tufted" Dynamic
Textured Impression Embossing Folder and matted this onto
a piece of Blueberry Bushel .
I cut the centre plate with the a Stitched Labels Framelit die,
punched the white card for the centre panel, stamped the sentiment and flowers.
I added the die cut filigree corners from the Detailed Deer Thinlits dies -
arent these beautiful - you will be able to buy this set of dies
when the Aurumn/Winter Catalogue launches on the 5th September.

I think I will use this design again , but for a happier event,
naybe a birthday or anniversary.

Sue's Birthday

Today is the birthday of an ex work colleague, Sue.
Didn't realise that it was roday til I checked my diary this afternoon,
So I went to my box of unfinished cards and various ephemera,
and found this base card with the DSP on it.
I added a Stitched Label framelit die cut, then glued
the punched shape in the centre and stamped Happy Birthday on it.
Barry then hand- delivered it so she got it today!

I love the soft muted colours of this DSP, which I know dates back awhile,
but I think it comes together nicely - what do you think??

Congrats from Julie

On yesterdays post I said that it was my Stampin' Up! Mummy
Julie's congratulations card that gave me the inspiration
for the card that I made for Pat to give to her friend.
I also said that I would post one today to show you
just what I meant - and here's the one I received from
Julie for being 2nd in Sales in June.

See what I mean!!

A special birthday card for Janine

My friend Pat (from LWL) wanted a special card making
to celebrate her friend Janine's special birthday,
Here's what I came up with.

I was inspired by the cards that my Stampin Up mummy Julie sends out
each month for the top 5 sales - I'll post one tomorow and you will see what I mean!!
Once again I used the fabulous Petal Promenade DSP,
simply cut out the number 50, remembering to keep the middle of the zero!
Matted and layered this first onto Very Vanilla, then onto Fresh Fig cardstock.
The Birthday greeting square and sentiment was computer generated
directly onto an A4 Very Vanilla card front.
I am really pleased with this and will use this design for special cards.

Hope that Janine liked it!!

Kathrine's Grandaughter!!

Had some lovely news at the weekend, one of the ladies that I play golf with regularly,
on Tuesdays sent me a message that she had a new baby grand-daughter.
I texted back for details, then set about making a card for her.

Here it is with all the details on it.

View from above.
The photos really dont do it justice, but I was really pleased with it
and Kathrine was thrilled to bits with it.
Saw piccies of Evelyn Joyce after we had golfed today -
she is absolutely gorgeous!!

Blended Seasons Diarama card.

The other week, Chris and I went to training and used the Blended Seasons stamp set
and the  Stitched Seasons Framelits dies which form the bundle.
Here's the card we made

Front view

View from above showing the mechanics
We used the Stampin' Blends to colour the image.
Its a long time since I made a diarama card so I enjoyed making this one.
Dont know whether you can see the detail, but the front aperture
cut with the Stitches Seasons framelits cuts the outside edge of the aperture
as well as the inside edge of the cut out piece - brilliant!!

Another Frosted Floral Suite card

Here's another of the Frosted Floral cards that Chris and I made last week.

I think that you can see the pearl effect of the beautiful DSP on this picture!
And what about that die cut for the embellishment - isn't it just so neat - I love this too!!
In fact I don t think thre nis one thing that I dont love!!
What do you think??

Frosted Floral Suite - sneaky peek!!

Here's your first sneaky peek at the beautiful Frosted Floral Suite
It was love at first sight!
The Frosted Floral Speciality DSP is gorgeous - double sided
with both sides having a frosted, pearlised finish!!
Scrumptious!!
Any how without further ado, here's one of three cards
that Chris and I made on Wednesday!!

Because the papers are pearlised it's difficult to photograph
the DSP  effectively, but I think you can appreciate it's beauty.
The flowers and some of the leaves are stamped using the First Frost stamp set
and these are die cut  with the other leaves and the Baby's Breath
using the Frosted Bouquet Framelits dies.
I havent put a greeting on this as I am going to save it
for a special occasion and add a sentiment then.

I think we cased this card from Amy Koenders , but I have searched her blog and cant find it!!

Tara's birthday today

Today is another one of my golfing friend's birthdays - its Tara's today!!
Not seen her for a while, so I wanted something special for her.

She tells me that she's been feeling a little down, so when I looked through
my birthday card box, I thought this might cheer her up a little.

Happy Birthday Tara,
have a great day and hope to see you real soon!!

Sneak Peek - Dashing Deer Bundle

Yesterday my friend and Stampin' Up! downline Cheryl
came over to spend some time playing with a couple of my
Autumn/Winter  Catalogue pre-order items.

The first one we made was using the Dashing Deer Bundle.

Colour Combo is Shaded Spruce, Real Red and White.
The papers are a sneak peek of the special Host offer for September,
Dashing Along.
See the embossed corners top right and bottom right -
these were done using the Big Shot Embossing mats
with the corner dies from this bundle!!

Really happy with this card, hopefully the first of many!!
