Back home!

Well today Barry and I flew back  from Alicante where we have been staying with
our friend Michelle and her partner Andy for the past 10 days.
We have been looked after so well during this time and have been really made welcome,
so I would just like to say thank you to them both.
Michelle and I spent some time crafting together and I have shared some
of these cards with you already (I had scheduled most of the posts in my absence).
Here's another one of the cards we made together.

Once again I have used "By the tide" stamp set
it really is addictive!!

Fashionable Hearts

Michelle and I recently bought the Fashionable Hearts embosslits,
so last night we had a play with these - here's what I made.

A bright cheerful coloured card!
I chopped the small hearts in half to make flower petals,
then two tiny hearts on top of each other for the flower centre.

By the tide

here's a card that I made at Michelle's the other night - I used her "By the tide" stamp set-
this is a set that I don't own - it might have to go on the never-ending wish list!

Michelle had some die cut shells already cut, so I added a couple of these
just to finish the card off - think they are really sweet.

Dapper dad Birthday

You may recall that last month's training theme was "Male"  and in the morning,
we made a set of three cards using the stamp set Dapper Dad.
Here's the first one we made.

My card was different to everyone else's as I stuck my shoe on before I had
put the Bakers Twine on to the card - and it should have gone on vertically.
So mine ended up with the sentiment at the bottom of the card.
If you look HERE you will see the card that Julie had made and how mine would have
looked had I followed the instructions properly!!

Here is the second batch of swaps that I have made
First I stamped with Versamark on Brushed Gold card stock,
using the Secret Garden Stamp set,
then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.

I then took it a stage further and bleached out the colour from parts of the petals

Et voila - I love this!!

Telford Swaps version 1

Today I am in Telford at a UK Stampin' Up! event.
As usual, we will be taking part in a "Swap" and I have made about 150 in total.
I think I have mentioned before but I have a very low boredom threshold,
so instead of doing 150 swaps all the same I have made 3 lots of 50.
Here is the first batch.

Colour combo is Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight and Brushed Gold.
I used the Floral Frames Framelits to cut out the 3 largest  flower shapes,
then scrumpled 5 x 7/8" scalloped Circles and fastened together with a brad to make
the central flower.  Finished off with a gold leaf punched using the Bird Builder punch.

Chalkboard card

Here's a card that I have been meaning to make for a few months now.
I received the original one of these from one of my Stampin Up sisters
as a swap earlier in the year - it must have been Sale-a-bration time, as the original used
a sentiment from a S-A-B stampset.
Here is my take on this chalkboard card

Betsy's Blossoms and bleach

Chris (sis-in-law) is back from holiday now , so it was good to spend a day crafting again.
Really missed her last week!  Never mind - it will soon be my turn to go on holiday.
Enough waffle.  We did some serious crafting, I did a scrapbook page - which is something of an achievement for me, because it's not something that I have a penchant for.
I am really pleased with the result, but cannot post it on here yet - you will have to wait a while for that pleasure.  Chris gave me a hand with the finishing touches to a few swaps for Saturday and then made two cards that she needed to make.  Then we played....... with bleach!!
We were very careful and diluted it to be on the safe side, and we tried colouring in
with bleach on various colours of card. We enjoyed this pastime (we like to play)
then after she had gone home, I played a little more and here is the result.

I used the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set and randomly stamped using bleach, Soft Suede,
Early Espresso and Crumb Cake onto Crumb Cake card stock.
I added a piece of retired SU ribbon, with a  matching ribbon slider from my stash (non SU)
then stamped the two tags using the Tint Tags stamp set and punched them
out using the matching punch and attached with Linen Thread.
I am quite pleased with the effect!

Pat's Birthday

It's our friend Pat's birthday on Thursday, so for once I made this card
in plenty of time and will post it tomorrow!

Card stock is Midnight Muse and the papers are Comfort Cafe DSP
Sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes and Petite Pairs.
Punches used are Modern Label, Word Window, Large Oval and Scallop Oval.
As the paper is quite busy, simply put a couple  of Basic Rhinestones
on both sentiments.
I can safely post this card today as Pat is neither a crafter, nor a blogger!

Name Badge

Today I had a play at  making my name badge in readiness for Saturday's
Stampin' Up! Event at Telford.
We were given minimum dimensions of 7.4 cm x 10.5 cm for this and the only restriction is
that all products must be Stampin Up.
Here's what I have come up with.

Once again I have heat embossed in Silver on Brushed Gold cardstock
the stamp set used was Secret Garden and I have stamped two flowers
directly on to the card, whilst the third flower and leaves have been stamped on
separate cardstock and then cut out with the matching Framelits and stuck on top.
Instead of inking parts of the flowers I applied Dazzling Diamonds Glitter instead.
Think that this will fit the bill!

Silver Embossing on Brushed gold

I needed a break from making swaps for next weekend in Telford (A stamping up event where there will be approx 400 demonstrators attending - I am hoping to make 150 swaps tops!)
I decided that I would have a play at heat embossing in silver on brushed gold cardstock, then colouring in.  Here is the result!

This was really just a practice piece to see what the effects of the different colours would be,
but I was pleased with the results, so decided to make it into a card.
Stamp sets used are Secret Garden and Curly Cute.

Leaf Sizzlit and Elegant Butterfly punch to cut out stamped image from

Silver 2 Congratulations

Received our monthly Julies' Jems Newsletter and was delighted to read that my SU sister,
Nicky, has just promoted to Silver 2, so set about and made her this congratulations card.

This is my stampset of the moment - I do tend to use the same stamp set for a few cards,
then move on to another.  This is Flowering Flourishes, and I have been using
Sis- in- law's (Chris) up til now, but I took delivery of my own set on Tuesday,
and I think I have used it every day since.
The colour combo is Basic Black and Pretty in Pink, the Textured Impressions
embossing folder is Delicate Designs and the sentiment is from Little Additions.
So - congratulations once again Nicky - onwards and upwards!!

Elements of Style

This is the card that Chris (sis-in-law) made for our All Day Training Event swap last month.

Colour Combo, Soft Suede, Crumb cake and Very Vanilla
Stamp sets used are Elements of Style and Summer Silhouettes
Natural Trim ribbon gives it a masculine feel
(you may recall that the theme for the day was male!!)
I think that this card is fabulous - don't you?
