Another Deck the halls card

I so love silver and Gold on Christmas cards
and for this particular design I couldn't decide which to use,
so decided to use both!!

Simple colourway of Gold Silver and White.
The baubles from Deck the Halls stamp set were inked in Versamark
and heat embossed using Silver and Gold Embossing Powder.
The greeting from "Hang your Stocking" stamp set
also inked in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder
onto White card then cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits,
the scalloped gold oval was cut using these too.
The faux ribbon is a strip of the fabulous Bundle of Love DSP.
This was then matted onto Gold Foil card,
then matted onto a white card blank.

I'm really impressed with the results, and will do it again,
then I will do a Silver greeting and scalloped oval.

Peace on Earth

Here's another Carols Of Christmas card
I really am getting into the swing of it!!

This time it's using the second greeting from the stamp set, with a colour combination,
(you know that I love Blue Christmas cards!)
Night of Navy, White and Silver.
The snowflakes are cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies
from the Colourful Seasons bundle - aren't they fabulous.
Once again, I took inspiration from Cindy Elam
and her card

I have changed it a little, and I'll try doing it her way another day!!

Deck the halls

As a Stampin Up Demonstrator I have the privilege of being able to
order items prior to the next Catalogue Launch.
The Carols of Christmas Bundle was an early release before we get to see the
Seasonal Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

Here's my first make

With a colour combination of White, Silver. Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler
and the Carols Of Christmas Stamp set with the Card Front Builder Thinlits dies,
this little beauty was made.
I found this card on the internet,
it was by Cindy Elam and you can find her work
HERE
Thanks for the inspiration Cindy!
I love it!!!

Sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams.
And one of my "only to be used on special cards" Iced Rhinestone embellishment.

Invitation Day

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, golfing with my friend Andy
at her Golf Club's Invitation Day.

Here's the card that I have made and posted to her today
to say thank you for the invitation-
we had a great game of golf and a fabulous meal afterwards.

The card  features the Whole Lot Of Lovely DSP-
there are some fabulous designs in these papers
buy I think this is my favourite.

I layered the DSP onto Tranquil Tide card stock then onto a white card .

I used one of  the Thankful Thoughts stamp set sentiment inked in Pool Party
on  white card cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelits Square die.

The flowers are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies
cut in Crushed Curry card with a little piece of black behind the centre.
I cut another flower in Pear Pizzazz and fussy cut one of the petals to make a leaf.

I am really pleased with this card and shall make a couple more -
I do like to send thanks yous- maybe I'll do some of these for my monthly customer orders.

BUT... the best news of the day came after the meal yesterday
when the winners were announced,
and guess what ...............

We came..............

A perfect ending to a perfect day!!  Thanks Andy - here's to next years event!

Soft Sayings

I recently bought the Soft Sayings Kit,
after attending one of our monthly training sessions
with our Stampin Up mummy Julie.
I was really impressed by the colours and designs in the kit,
not to mention the stamp set that comes with it.

Here's the first card that I have made,
and I'll post more as I finish the rest of them.

Isn't it fabulous!!

Julie's Birthday

Today is the birthday of one of my crafting ladies - Julie,
you may have noticed that there are a few Julies in my circle of friends and acquaintances!

I am really loving using these Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies,
I love the beautiful patterns you can create with them.

I printed the sentiment border on my computer.
I have used the Eastern Medallions dies in conjunction with
a scallop circle from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies.
The colour combo is Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and White.
For the flower centre I used one of the beautiful Iced Rhinestone embellishments.

Happy Birthday Julie - have a great day!!

Get well card for Rosemary

One of my crafting ladies has recently been in hospital for an operation  on her foot.
This has meant that she has been unable to walk for a time, so I sent her this card
just to let her know that we were thinking of her.

Its a CAS quickie card using the Layering Circles Die,
the Daisy Punch and the 1/2" circle punch.
The sentiment was computer generated.

Get well soon Rosemary - we're missing you!

Cased Lighthouse U fold card!

This card is shamelessly cased from my Stampin Up sister Amanda's blog.
She has done a whole series of cards using this fold as the basis
for some amazing projects - do pop round and see her work,
you won't be disappointed, I promise!
I did tell Amanda that I was going to do this card and she
will be waiting to see how I got on.
The sentiment is not perfect, but I shall keep this as a prototype
and do the card again as and when I find the right person
and the right occasion for sending it.

Front view

Slightly angled view from above to show the mechanics of the card.
The stamp set used is High Tide
and the background papers are from the Serene Scenery DSP Stack
which is now retired - I don't have much of it left,
so was well pleased to find the sea/sky-scape paper.
Thanks Amanda for letting me case your design -
what would I do without you!!

You can see more of Amanda's designs by visiting her blog
and her latest design U-fold card

Life is a beautiful thing.

Browsing the internet earlier today I saw a card by Rick Adkins from the USA
and it prompted me to get my ink sponges out to make the background
 for the Flirty Flowers stamps

Colour Combo is Lemon Lime Twist, Black, Marina Mist and White.
Stampsets : Flirty Flowers and the sentiment is from Colourful Seasons.
A White pen was used to highlight the tiny flower heads.

Think I'll keep this one for myself!!

Simon's Birthday Today

As you might guess from the photo it's our son Simon's birthday today
and this card was inspired after seeing various cards made by my
Stampin Up sister Amanda Bates on one of the Jems' Team's Blog Hops.

front view

raised view.

When I saw Amanda's fabulous cards, I just had to have a go,
and I think I made three cards using this fold the same day!!
As Simon's card is usually difficult to design, I decided to go with this fancy fold
and played with some retired DSP, the beautiful Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper
(which I adore!) , my treasured Large Letters framelits and my little star punch
(which is really useful for embellishments on mens cards!)
I am really impressed with the result and I think you can see the fabulous
glimmer effect on the letters quite well on this photo.

Here's a link to Amanda's Blog Hop post that set me off making quite a few
of these U  fold cards (I think thats the name Amanda gave to them)

Thanks so much Amanda - right I must nip back to your blog and case your lighthouse card!!

Yuki's birthday

Tomorrow is the birthday of my friend Yuki who is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Japan.
I recruited her as a Demo when she lived in the UK and she had to resign when she returned to Japan, but was able to rejoin a few years ago when the Japanese market was included by Stampin Up!
Obviously I wanted to send her a special card and this was one that I made a couple of months ago, waiting for the right occasion to send  it.

I used the now retired So Detailed thinlits die and the Sale-a-bration
Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer paper which I really love.
The sentiment is from the also retired Wetlands stamp set and I punched it out using the
new Pretty Label punch.

The picture does not do justice to the beautiful glittery effect, but I was well pleased with the result and I'm sure that Yuki will appreciate it.
Happy Birthday Yuki!!

Julie's Birthday

Tuesday (the 3rd) was my Stampin Up Mummy's birthday (Julie Kettlewell), and I couldn't remember whether I had photographed her card before posting it.  I have found this photo in one of my iPad albums, taken on the last day of June, so I believe that this is the card that I sent her.  I have no doubt that she'll correct me if I have got it wrong!  This getting old lark is no joke!!
Had I found the photo earlier, I would have posted it on her birthday, instead of today!!

I have done a batch of similar cards using the Eastern Beauty bundle
and this one is a complete case of the one in the catalogue on page 129
 - with a little tweaking,  it was the main reason  that I bought this bundle
as I  fell in love with it immediately!!
Color combo of Blushing Bride, White and Smoky Slate (the sentiment)
this sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stampset.
Hope you had a fabulous birthday Julie - thanks for all you do for us Jems!!

Jane's Birthday

Tomorrow is my Sister-in-law Jane's birthday,
so I wanted to make a special card for her, I think this does the trick!!

A very CAS card with a simple colour combination,
White, Powder Pink and Pear Pizzazz.
The base card sentiment was computer generated.
The background stamp is from Wood Words.
stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder,
The daisy stamp from the Daisy Delight stamp set is also stamped twice
in Versamark on Powder Pink card stock, and heat embossed
with White Embossing Powder and punched out with the Daisy Punch
then coloured in with Powder Pink ink and Aqua painter (Waterbrush).
A Wink of Stella is then applied and the two daisies are glued together,
overlapping each other.
The only embellishments are tiny Rhinestones and a Clear Faceted Gem.
All products from Stampin'Up!

Jane won't see this card until tomorrow as she is not a blogger,
so I am quite safe posting this tonight.
Have a great day Jane!!

This beautiful card is shamelessly cased from Monica's Blog HERE
do pop round and look at what other lovely projects she has to show you.

Seasonal Layers Thinlits and Clear Faceted Gems.
Wink of Stella

A different Anniversary

Today is the 3rd Anniversary of setting up the business of my hairdresser, Katy.

I wanted to make a card to celebrate her success, but it's not the normal sort of Anniversary is it!
So here is the Anniversary card with a difference that I made for her.
The basic card was made when I met up Chris on Wednesday and I just added the
word Anniversary later on.

The stamp set is Happy Celebrations and the "Anniversary" stamp is from
the Number of Years stamp set.
Cardstock is Old Olive and Black
inks used are Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight,
Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Memento Black.

Thanks for persuading me on the merits of this set Chris - very handy
for this special, if somewhat different occasion!!
