Summer Silhouettes - again

Here's a card that I made earlier in the week - not crafted today - just got back from golfing.
Barry and I have been on the Rabbits' Captain's Awayday today at Wath Golf Club.
We have both done well - I came second in the Ladies, Barry came 3rd in the Mens.
I won the Ladies' Best Back 9 prize, and as no lady got nearest the pin,
cards were put in the hat and my name was drawn out, so I won the prize for that!!
Didn't we do well!!

Colour combo for this card is Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and White.
Flowers and leaves stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.
Stamp sets are Summer Silhouettes, Mosiac Madness and the sentiment is from Express yourself.

Another man's card.

Here's another card that I made yesterday when Chris came over to craft,

Colour Combo is Island Indigo, Basic Gray and White.
The stamp is the new World Map stamp which is now available to purchase.
I sponged a background using typical map colours (though they don't show up very much!)
then stamped the map on top with Black Stazon.
The car  from Rev Up the Fun, was stamped onto Whisper White card stock,
then matted onto Basic Gray card stock.
I punched a faux ribbon strip using the  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border  punch,
then stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, cut with the Word Window punch
and layered onto a punched Modern Label in Island Indigo.
Another card that I am quite pleased with - we were definitely on a roll yesterday!!

Butterfly scraps card.

I have been doing my rounds of blogs today and noticed a butterfly challenge.
As my mojo came home from it's walkabout this morning,
I went into my craft room and looked at the mess on the desk.
There were scraps of card  left over from the last couple of cards I had made -
this set the creative juices going and I came up with this

The colour combo is Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and White
The butterflies were made from scraps with the Beautiful Wings embosslit,
I punched a scrap of left over wheel stamped Gingham with the Modern Label Punch,
The sentiment is from the Postage Collection stamp set
and cut with the Word Window punch.
Basic Rhinestone embellishments on the butterflies.
Voila - a card made entirely from scraps from my desk!

I would like to enter this in

Happy Birthday Sue

Today is my friend Sue's birthday.  You may remember her Dad passed away recently,

Carol's Santa

Barry and I have been golfing today at Selby (Senior's Capatain's Away Day)
Had a lovely day, but we are both now shattered!!  Barry is snoozing in the armchair
whilst I am watching the soaps. Haven't done any crafting, so I will show you the card that
Carol (from my Thursday class) made last night.
Think that she had seen something similar on Pinterest.

I think it's brilliant don't you?

Betsy's Blossoms Twinchies card

A while ago I made lots of Twinchies, (but I seem to have gotten out of the habit of late!) must start doing them again - I really enjoyed it.  I decided to do something with them, so today,
I made this card for my friend's birthday.

Before

The colour combo is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso,
and the stamp set used to make the Twinchie was Betsy's Blossoms.
The sentiment was from Teeny Tiny Wishes -g
but can you see I was a little heavy handed and the first "friend" is blurred.
So I used the matching wheel- Betsy's Blooms to stamp a border
in Versamark, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Et voila!  A complete disguise don't you think?

after
I am really pleased with this - now where did I put the rest of my Twinchies?

Monday 19 August 2013

Variation on a theme

Same card as yesterday, but different colours used here.
The LHS panel colour is Bermuda Bay
and the snowflake is heat embossed in Silver embossing powder on brushed Silver cardstock,
die cut with the Framelit die that matches the stamp set.
You can see the detail of the stamp on this picture
whereas yesterdays photo was not too clear.

Keep revisiting as I will be posting more sneaky peeks.!!

A sympathy card for Sue.

I found out yesterday that my good friend and ex work colleague (who comes to my craft classes)
Sue, lost her Dad at the weekend.  I didn't know that he was ill, so can only assume it was sudden.
I set about making a sympathy card for her, and whilst I was making it, I thought that I really ought to make
another one, so that I am prepared, and not at a loss as to what to make.

Here are the two cards that I made - both very CAS, but made with love.

So now I am at least prepared for one eventuality.
Both cards were made in Black and white only,
using the Flower Shop and Hopeful Thoughts stamp sets.
As I said - very CAS cards.
Thinking of you Sue - in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs

Happy Birthday Lucas

Yesterday was my Grandson Lucas' 10th birthday,
here's the card that I made for him.

Very much like Barry's card in design, used Night of Navy ink and DSP from the Brights stack.
The word "today" was computer produced as (I couldn't believe it!) I don't have a today stamp!
The die cut letters were then suck on to the punched hexagons.
The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned.
I am sure it would get no more than a passing glance from the now 10 year old,
but Lexie thought it was great!!

Friday 9 August 2013

Lexie's card and present for Lucas' Birthday.

Today Lexie has spent the day with me and we have had a great time.
We have been crafting together, we have been swimming with my sister Maggie and her grand-daughter Eva, we have had lunch at McDonalds, in fact we were having such a good time that I forgot to take her for her dancing lesson! Oh dear!  Another CRAFT moment.......
Can't Remember A Flipping Thing!! Senility rules OK!.

here are the card and the present Lexie has made for Lucas.

I taught Lexie how to use the paper trimmer today - can't believe how accurate her measurements were!!
She also stamped the sentiment so straight it puts my stamping to shame!!
She used a peel off for the 10 and used the Big shot to cut the letters (I had to help turning the handle as it was hard work!)
The stars were punched.
Here's the door hanger she has made for Lucas.
She painted the gray-board this morning and left it to dry for a few hours.
She designed this all by herself and even cut the Big Shot letters herself this afternoon
 - even though it was a bit of a struggle!!
She found some matching orange ribbon and stuck that across the hanger, then added all the letters and stars.
I can't believe how great this has turned out - although she is my grand-daughter so I expect it's in the genes!!

Well done Lexie -fabulous work!!

Double Embossing

Today I have spent a few hours with my friend and down-line , Anne, planning and
making samples for a workshop we are doing with her WI group next week.
Here is one of the cards we will be making

The watercolour card is dry embossed using the TI Flower Garden Embossing Folder,
then the embossed image is inked with versamark using a brayer,
sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat embossed.

We used aqua painters and re-inkers to colour the flowers in.
This one is done in Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Bashful Blue
The sentiment is from Oh Hello!!
I have really enjoyed doing this new technique and plan on doing more.
