Janice's birthday

Yesterday was sister-in law Janice's 50th birthday.
Here's the pop up box card that I made for her.

Front view

view from above
I stamped the paper for the base using  Real Red ink (Janice's favourite colour!)
and used Creative Elements for the top panels of the box, and Petite Petals
stamp sets for the side panels.
The flowers are stamped using the Flower Shop stamp set and cut with the Pansy Punch
and the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.
The flower centres are Basic Rhinestones.
I am quite pleased with this - and Janice was too!!

Patrick's Birthday Card

Well here's my last posting in 2013 - it's a card for our dear friend Patrick,
who you may recall had meningitis last year,  and is consequently blind.
I tried to put some texture and depth on this different shaped flip card - as he wont be able to see it.

This super three circle flip card die is one that Barry bought me for Christmas.
The colour combination is Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla
The sentiment was computer generated the  the circles die cut.
the side panel was die cut then stamped using Creative Elements stamp set.
The borders were embossed using the Textured Impressions Delicate Designs embossing folder,
and the stars were simply punched then stuck on.
We are going to go see him tomorrow and join him for a birthday drink.
Happy Birthday Patrick!!

Hello Doily

I couldn't wait to have a play with this stamp set (Hello Doily)

Jan's Wedding Card

Yesterday, Jan decided that she wanted to make a wedding card for her friend.
The colours had to be raspberry and cream, and her friend loved butterflies.
This is the idea I came up with and the card that Jan made.

The trusty Creative Elements flourish stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla card.
Layered on a mat of Raspberry Ripple card,
layered on an Ivory base card.
Matching ribbon from stash.
Butterflies die cut using Beautiful Wings embosslit,
Basic pear embellishments.
I am sure the bride will love it!

Betsy's Blossoms meets Creative Elements

Betsy's Blossoms is a stamp set that I have not used every much,
whilst Creative Elements is used so often, the image has almost disappeared off the top of the stamp!!
So - a combination of well used and little used here,
with a colour combo of Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray and Whisper White.

The sentiment is from the ever useful Teeny Tiny Wishes.
A touch of Cherry Cobbler seam binding and a few tiny basic pearls finish this card off nicely!
All products used are Stampin' Up!

Silver Wedding Card

Last week, we had a Stampin' Up! team challenge (Julie's Jems) to make a 25th Anniversary card
to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Stampin' Up!

For the background I stamped the flourish from Creative Elements in Versamark
and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.
I matted this on a layer of Silver card, then onto a white base card.
I used the Memorable Moments stamp set to stamp the 25th Anniversary sentiment.
I then used the Textured Impressions Designer Frames Embossing folder on it,
and fussy cut round the oval embossed frame.
I applied Dazzling Diamonds round the oval border.
I am quite pleased with the overall result!

Sharon's birthday

Today is a very special birthday for one of my Stampin' Up sisters.
That was why I wanted to use the Memorable Moments stamp set the other day -
and I messed the card up didn't I!  What I did instead was to do a stamped
but not embossed card - just until I am used to placing these stamps!!

Colour combo is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso
Base card stamped using the flourish from Creative Elements stamp set.
A mat of Early Espresso  card stock stuck on top
then I embossed the Very Vanilla with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
and layered this on top.
All the sentiments (stamped separately) plus the frame from Memorable Moments stamp set.
Happy 60th Birthday Shazza - have a great day!!

Friend

Each year, one of my  golfing friends asks me to make 6 special cards for her special friends.
This is the first one that I have made for her.
I have cased a card that I received for my birthday from my friend Cheryl,
I just changed the colours around but kept the layout (you can see some of her cards HERE)

This is only the second time that I have used this stamp set - it was one that we received  at
Convention last year - Affection Collection and I really should have used it more.
If you fancy this set, then it is only available until the end of the month
when the Seasonal Autumn/Winter Catalogue finishes!
I have used a colour Combo of Pink Pirouette, Pool Party and Soft Suede
on a Very Vanilla base card.
The flower is made by stamping the flourish from Creative Elements in Soft Suede onto Pink Pirouette card, then punching the set of petals out 6 times, using the Blossom Petals Builder punch.
These are then assembled and stuck together to form the large flower.
The Little Leaves Sizzlets die was used for the leaves, and I stamped the Friend sentiment then punched this out using the Modern Label punch.
I used the Fancy Fan Folder to emboss the Pool Party Coredinations card, then sanded the top
(look out for this in the new Seasonal ) catty.
I used a Vintage brad on top of the 3 stamped Pool Party pennants and voila!
I love this - thanks for the inspiration Cheryl!

Rosemary's birthday

Tomorrow is my golfing friend and Tuesday Crafting  lady - Rosemary's birthday.
Here's the card that I am giving her.

Colour combo is Melon Mambo and Whisper White.
The background is done using my favourite Creative Elements Stampset.
I cut a Sizzlits Large  Paper Doily in Shimmer White (but I don't think you can tell from this photo!)
Then I used the Fancy Flower punch for the outside petals
and made a ribbon rose for the flower centre.
I spritzed the rose liberally with shimmer (but don't think this shows up either!)
Used the modern label punch to frame the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes)
which was stamped and punched using the Word Window punch.
Happy Birthfday Rosemary!!

Not a Christmas card!

Came across an interesting challenge the other day and decided to have a go at it.
Using the colours red and green, make a non-Christmas card!
So here's my attempt.

Colour combo is Cherry Cobbler and  Garden Green with very Vanilla
The background is stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Creative Elements stamp set.
Used the Lattice Bigz die and then used all the leaf shapes cut out of it
to make the leaves for the 4 points of the trellis and the corners.
Sentiment is from Tiny Tags.
Flowers are made using the 1.1/4" Scallop punch, centres are diagonal fringed flowers in Very Vanilla
and the corner flowers are cut with the Itty Bitty flower punch and VV "knots" in the centres.
With the exception of the red pearls (which are from my stash)
all products used are Stampin' Up.

I would like to enter this in the
Docraft Challenge - Using the colours red and green, make a non-Christmas card!

Quarterly Training Swaps

Yesterday was our Stampin Up Team's quarterly training at Pudsey.  There were 30 of us there and as usual we have a swap.
I chose to do bookmarks.
I managed to get them all done and labelled up in time (just)
and here's a few of them for you to see.

Close up

To make these bookmarks, I cut out a load of tags using the Two Tags Bigz die, in various colours, then stamped (and on some I also heat embossed) with the flourish from Creative Elements .
I made the flowers by punching 5 x 1.1/4"  scallop circles, spritzing them, then crumpling them up.
When dry I then fastened them together with a brad and glued them to the circular bit of the die cut.
On the close up photo I had to stick the small oval with the greeting on as I had dropped some glue on it!!

Silver Wedding Anniversary

Today is the Silver Wedding Anniversary of my brother Chris (yes another Chris!!) and wife Jane.
I wanted a special card for them and this is what I came up with.

Colour combo of Silver and White.
I computer generated the greeting on the base card.
For the background I used what is fast becoming my favourite - Creative Elements,
stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Silver EP.
Matted this onto a rectangle of   Silver card (non SU)
I heat embossed in silver an  Apothecary Art image for the centre label, hand cut round this.
and then matted onto a silver frame cut with the Framelits Label Collection Die.
I added a computer generated name plate for the centre.
Clean and Simple, but classy methinks.
Happy Silver Wedding Anniversary Chris and Jane - may you enjoy many more!!

Carol's Card

Carol is one of my Thursday Craft Club ladies, and she needed a 70th birthday card
for someone special this week, so I came up with this design and here is Carol's finished card -
hasn't she done a magnificent job of this!!  I am sure her friend will treasure this.

The card base has computer generated border printed on it.
Colour Combo is Melon Mambo and Whisper White.
Background stamped using Creative Elements.
Flowers and label stamped using Everything Eleanor stamp set and cut out by hand.
Sentiment from Curly Cute - 70 is die cut.
A simple knot-less bow finishes it off.

Maggie and Ger's Anniversary.

Today is my sister Maggie and husband Gerald's Wedding Anniversary
and here is the card that I have made for them.

Really clean and simple, but I think elegant card .  Whisper White and Silver embossing powder.
I used Creative Elements flourishes stamp for the background,
Apethecary Elements for the centre panel, cut out and layered onto some silver card from my stash,
then cut using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies.
The sentiment is from a retired stampset.
Finished off with a knot-less bow in 5/8" Satin Ribbon.
Happy Anniversary!!

Live, Laugh, Love.

This is another wall hanging that I have made based on Sally-Jo's original idea.
The base cards are cut with the Top Note Die and the background stamp is from Creative Elements.
The heart and flowers are from the You are Loved stamp set which will be making a come-back
in the Annual Catalogue on 1st October - Hurray - I love this set!
The flowers were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
The heart was stamped in Whisper white onto Cherry Cobbler card stock
and heat embossed with White EP, then cut out by hand.
The butterflies are cut out ods Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.
The little hearts were punched using the Small Heart punch and raised on dimentionals.
The word were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White using the Letter It stampset.
I used some Cherry coloured thin ribbon from my stash to fasten the 3 pieces together.
(Another one that I will keep for myself!!!)

Another Triple Time creation

Having had a first attempt at this technique, I wanted to have another go,
it isn't really difficult (or I wouldn't have repeated it!!)
So here's the second card.

Colour combo - Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.
Stampsets - En Francais and Creative Elements,
sentiment from Petite Pairs.
