Happy Birthday Janet

Here is the birthday card that I have made for one of my crafting ladies - Janet - whose birthday is today.

Colour Combo is Regal Rose, Basic Gray and Basic Black.
The oval is embossed using the Textured Impressions Designer Frames EF.
The sentiment is from Petite Pairs, stamped in Black on RR CS
and then punched out with the Extra Large Oval punch.
I stamped the flourish from Vintage Vogue onto the gray panel (using the stamp-a-ma-jig).
The Pink scalloped and grey scalloped panels were cut using the Adorning Accents Edgelits.
I used Basic Gray 1/2" Striped Satin ribbon tied with some embroidery thread
to make the knot-less bow. I love this new ribbon - it's so chic!!
Have a great day Janet!!

Get well Patrick

Our good friend and golfing buddy, Patrick, was admitted to hospital with Meningitis, in Portugal,
the day before Barry and I flew out to join him and his partner Jan for a much needed holiday.
He has been very ill (indeed he still is )and everyone has been praying for his speedy return to health.
We stayed with Jan in Portugal until last Wednesday, and were relieved to hear that he would be transferred by air ambulance back to the UK on Saturday.
He was flown to Doncaster yesterday afternoon and then taken to Barnsley hospital, where he
is now resting after a very tiring journey.  He is still in a coma, but there has been
a slight improvement in his condition over the last two weeks and he still has a long way to go.
Here's the card that I have made for him.  It's a stamp-set that I use a lot for Get-well and
thinking of you cards - Hopeful Thoughts.  The colour combo is Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
and Very Vanilla.  For the corner swirls I have used a stamp from Vintage Vogue
 - another well used stamp-set!!
The message says it all Patrick - Get well soon!!

Viva Vintage Vogue

Last Nights Crafting ladies made this card using the ever popular Vintage Vogue stamp-set.
It was cased from a swap that I received from my SU sister Jill Jones (but I can't remember the occasion when we swapped).
One of my ladies found it amongst my card samples and asked if we could make it.
This is my version of it.
The Colour combo is Night of navy, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.
For the large flower centre I have used some Stampin Glitter in (retired) Baja Breeze, which I think compliments the card, and for the little flowers I have coloured some Basic Rhinestones with a Night of Navy marker.

Patchwork thank yous

Here are a few more thank you cards that I have made, this time using the patchwork technique.
I stamped co-ordinating colour cards, with co-ordinating inks - in this case, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede, and used Melon Mambo embossing powder with white Craft ink for the embossed piece.
The stamp-sets used were Charming, Creative Elements, En Francais, Fine Flourish, Vintage Vogue and Medallion.
Then I cut them all with the 1.1/4" square punch, then pieced them back together randomly.
These were then matted up onto a Crumb Cake square and then layered onto a 10cm square Pink Pirouette card.

And closer up views

Vintage Vogue

Here's a card that I made at Chris's (sis-in-law) a few weeks ago when she was demonstrating SU products to a potential new customer who likes the distressed, vintage style card.
So we made this card that Chris designed, using the Vintage Vogue stampset with Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla CS. Tiny Tags were stamped and punched, then fastened on the card with linen thread, which sadly is no longer available - what will I use when this runs out? The flowers were inked using the rock n roll technique and brads were used for the flower centres. Beau Chateau DSP complements the colour combo perfectly.

Neutrals and Concord Crush

Today Chris B and myself have spent the day with Chris G (sis-in-law).
We spent a little time talking all things Stampin Up and what we are all ordering next, did some crafting, had lunch and drank coffee (with a little help from Mr Kipling!)
We all made the basic card, then put our own little twist on it.
We used the Neutrals Designer Paper stack, and cut it into strips 1.1/2 cm wide, then wove them to make the background. Matted this onto a piece of Concord crush. Sentiment from Sincere Salutations stamped in Concord Crush onto whisper white. Scallop corner punch used on two corners only. Vintage Vogue flowers stamped in Concord Crush and cut out, then popped up on Dimensionals,a dazzling rhinestone plced in the centre of the flower. Leaves punched out using the Extra large Bird punch. Whisper white 5/8* satin rubbon inked with Concord Crush inkpad to match.
Love it!!

July Impressions

I needed some creative inspiration today, so after reading this months copy of "Impressions", I decided to have a go at this simple make and take example using the Vintage Vogue stampset.
Added a couple of cream flatback pearls from the Pretties Kit for the flower centres.
Am very pleased with this. Will do this at my next Open House/Workshop!

Looking for the Summer Sun

Well I woke this morning to a cold, wet and miserable morning. No Monday Club golf for me today (I am a fair weather golfer!)
So instead, to cheer myself up, I got out the summer sun card and tried to fill the room with a little sunshine.
I used the new Solid Stripes single stamp to make a chequered effect in yellow and black on whisper white. I stamped the flowers from the Vintage Vogue in black ink on summer sun cardstock, then cut them out, and stamped the scroll/leaves in black in opposite corners. I punched the branch in black using the Extra-large two step bird punch - and hey presto - what have we got - a little bit of Summer Sun on a grey wet day! Enjoy!

New Customers

I have recently been contacted by two ladies who used the demo finder to get in touch with me. They were both specifically looking for SU products that had been recommended to them by other crafters. I invited them (seperately) to join me this morning to see and try these out for themselves. One of these ladies (Karen) happens to be a relative of one of my crafting ladies- it's a small world isn't it. The other lady (Jane) is going in hospital shortly and wanted some punches specifically to finish off some cards she plans to complete whilst recuperating, so wants them pretty quickly. Needless to say, both ladies were impressed by the products, so I ended up with a nice little order courtesy of the Demo Finder on the SU website. Nice one eh!
Went to Barnsley this afternoon to fetch some refreshment's for the half-way house for the Club Captain's Drive in on Sunday. Hope that he has better weather than I had for mine!!
Came home, made tea, then went shopping with brother. After that settled down to watch my favourite soap "Corrie" and made a card using the new "Vintage Vogue" stampset and the "Very Vintage" wheel from the Mini Catalogue. Cardstock and inkpads used were Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa. I coloured the flat back pearls with the summer sun inkpad and think that they match up lovely!
