... and also for Friend to Friend

Here's a card that I have made today, whilst exiled to the craft room, as we have
had new replacement windows fitted to the front of the house.
I might add that we only got back from Tenerife late last night (11:30 p.m.!)
and the window fitters were scheduled to come tomorrow.
There was a message on the ansaphone saying that they would be coming today -
I only listened to the messages at 7:30 this morning, so it was panic stations
trying to ensure that the workmen had easy access to all the windows,
and Barry had to take down the blinds and fasten back the curtains.
Needless to say all's well that ends well - the fitters arrived at 11:30 and finished
at 5:15 - a job really well done.
I had phoned up the chap who fitted our existing blinds, to come and quote us
for the downstairs window blinds (to match those upstairs)
and he came along just as the fitters were tidying up.  I cheekily asked him
if he had time to put the upstairs blinds back up for us - and he very kindly obliged.
He's measured up and we should have them in a couple of weeks - magic.
So - after all that digressing - here's the fruit of my labour!

It's a 7" x 5" card, which I think really suits this Butterflies Thinlits die cut.
The colour combo is Sahara Sand, Black and White
with a touch of Blushing Bride rosette trim and Mossy Meadow leaves.
The background paper is "Something Borrowed" DSP.
There is a white doily underneath the butterfly, which has a Basic Rhinestone
embellished body and head.
The sentiment is from teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped on Sahara Sand Card stock,
then punched with the Word Window punch,
stuck on top a Modern Label punched in Black card stock.

I can't take credit for the design, which I found on the Internet
Here
made by Carolyn King from Perth, Australia.
I really enjoyed making this card, so thanks Carolyn!

Bloom with Hope - birthday

Today I have used the Bloom with Hope stamp set again -
you may recall that I made a few Sympathy cards using this set last week.
Today I have used this set for a happier occasion - a birthday,
I did mention earlier that August was a busy month for birthdays.
I won't say who this card is for - as it might be for you!!

Simple colour combo of Real Red and Very Vanilla,
with a tough of gold glitter for the flower centre.
I stamped the blossom onto Real Red card with Real Red ink, twice,
then fussy cut them both out, and shaped them and layered them using a dimensional.
The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes cut with the Word Window punch
and layered onto a punched Modern Label .

Frugal Friday #2 Challenge

I am really enjoying these Frugal Friday Challenges, and if you would like to know more,
or even join in, you will find Lizy's challenge HERE.

Basically, you take a pile of scraps from your desk and make something with them.
Here's what I made today with some of yesterdays scraps.

The colour combo was Real Red and White with a hint of Silver Glimmer.
Here's the pile of scraps that I used.

The piece of Fresh Prints DSP that was a left over, wasn't big enough to use as the central mat,
on this card, so I pieced it together with a scrap of White which I embossed with
the Textured Impressions Delicate Designs embossing folder
(it looks like a patchwork quilt on the back of this layer!).
I punched an Extra Large Oval out of this piece of DSP before I layered it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock from my scrap box (it had a dirty mark in the middle) which I had gutted and used the
reverse side of the middle piece for the Oval Designer frame which was embossed and then fussy cut out.
The extra large oval piece of DSP was then glued into the oval frame.
I shaped the punched Petite Petal flowers and punched and shaped 1/4" circles for the flower centres,
and cut leaves out (with the Bird Builder Punch) from the scraps of Silver Glimmer Paper.
The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped then punched with the Word Window punch.
This was then stuck onto a piece of Real Red (which was punched from the piece of
card stock used for the first layer) using the Modern Label punch.
This was a really Frugal Friday card!!
I did use a completely new white base card - otherwise the other bits were all left overs.

Rita's Birthday

Tomorrow it is my cousin Rita's birthday - she is Linda's sister,
so as long as I remember Linda's birthday, I don't forget Ritas!!
Here's the card I made for her using the Beautifully Baroque stamp again.

Colour combination is Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, and White.
The papers are Eastern Elegance DSP.
Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped then punched with the Word Window punch,
and layered onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock cut with the Modern Label Punch.
The grey pearls are from my stash - everything else is Stampin' Up!
I can safely post this today as Rita doesn't blog either!!
Happy Birthday!

Owl Get Well card

Last Thursday, my friend Carol found a card on Pinterest that she wanted to case for a
Get Well Card, so when she had done it I asked if I could photograph it so that I
could case it too. I have just changed the "Bed Linen" on my version below!

Top Note Die used to cut the "bed"
Gingham Garden DSP used for the bed linen.
Punches used - Owl Builder punch, Itty Bitty flower punch,
Modern Label punch and Word Window punch,
the Nurse's hat is made from 1/4 of a 1.3/8" punched circle.
The ribbon is from my stash of (sadly retired) Stampin' Up ribbon.
I have a few friends who are under the weather at the moment,
so I may make a couple more of these to cheer them up!!

Butterfly scraps card.

I have been doing my rounds of blogs today and noticed a butterfly challenge.
As my mojo came home from it's walkabout this morning,
I went into my craft room and looked at the mess on the desk.
There were scraps of card  left over from the last couple of cards I had made -
this set the creative juices going and I came up with this

The colour combo is Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and White
The butterflies were made from scraps with the Beautiful Wings embosslit,
I punched a scrap of left over wheel stamped Gingham with the Modern Label Punch,
The sentiment is from the Postage Collection stamp set
and cut with the Word Window punch.
Basic Rhinestone embellishments on the butterflies.
Voila - a card made entirely from scraps from my desk!

Maggie's Birthday

Tomorrow is my sister Maggie's birthday, so I wanted to make her something a little bit special.

The colour combo is Regal Rose, Sahara Sand and White.
Once again I have used the Secret Garden stamp set and the white re-inker technique
to produce these flowers, and I used Real red with the aqua brush this time,
to create this beautiful pink colour.
There is a little rosebud stamped in white from the Collage Curios stamp set.
The Initial frame is die cut using the Window Frames Collection Framelits.
I bought the initial M some time ago in anticipation of Maggie's Birthday,
but cannot remember where from.
Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped and then punched with Word Window punch'
then layered on top of a punched Modern label.
Embellishments Basic Rhinestones.
(All products Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.)
Happy Birthday Maggie!!

Rosemary's birthday

Tomorrow is my golfing friend and Tuesday Crafting  lady - Rosemary's birthday.
Here's the card that I am giving her.

Colour combo is Melon Mambo and Whisper White.
The background is done using my favourite Creative Elements Stampset.
I cut a Sizzlits Large  Paper Doily in Shimmer White (but I don't think you can tell from this photo!)
Then I used the Fancy Flower punch for the outside petals
and made a ribbon rose for the flower centre.
I spritzed the rose liberally with shimmer (but don't think this shows up either!)
Used the modern label punch to frame the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes)
which was stamped and punched using the Word Window punch.
Happy Birthfday Rosemary!!
