Owl Get Well card

Last Thursday, my friend Carol found a card on Pinterest that she wanted to case for a
Get Well Card, so when she had done it I asked if I could photograph it so that I
could case it too. I have just changed the "Bed Linen" on my version below!

Top Note Die used to cut the "bed"
Gingham Garden DSP used for the bed linen.
Punches used - Owl Builder punch, Itty Bitty flower punch,
Modern Label punch and Word Window punch,
the Nurse's hat is made from 1/4 of a 1.3/8" punched circle.
The ribbon is from my stash of (sadly retired) Stampin' Up ribbon.
I have a few friends who are under the weather at the moment,
so I may make a couple more of these to cheer them up!!

This week the colour combo is Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.

really a zingy shade of pink.  Still you can see it's a bright colour combo.
Stamp sets used are Flower Sho (with matching Pansy punch)
and Petite Petals (with matching punch).
Sentiment from Blooming with Kindness.
The leaves are cut using the Bird Builder Punch.
The flower centres are Itty Bitty Flowers punched, with"knots" made from slivers of Daffodil Delight card stock.

Carol's Card

Last Saturday my friend (and down'line) Carol came to my Saturday morning Monthly workshop.
She had seen a card on Pinterest and fancied making it.
When she had finished it, I asked if I could photograph it for my blog as
I thought it was a fabulous card to share - I shall be casing it myself!!

Isn't it just fabulous - she has used the resist technique and scribbled blocks of
colour using the In Colours Stampin' Write Markers!
Itty Bitty flower punches and Hello, Lovely stamp set.
Great work Carol.

WWWU#8 Best Friend

Despite being late blogging today, I am relatively early in making  my card
for the Wade's Weekly Warm Up colour combo challenge.
I am normally on the last push with this, so I thought that I would
get in early doors this week.

The colours this week are
Island Indigo, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Sahara Sand.
Wasn't sure  how I was going to put these together, but I do believe
that they have worked perfectly on this design.
I used a dauber to colour the doily with Island Indigo ink.
I punched a 2.3/8" scallop circle for the centrepiece and stamped
the sentiment from "Label Love" Stampset.
I stamped and punched 3 Petite Petals flowers and punched one Pansy from
Summer Starfruit card stock.
I then punched Itty Bitty flowers in matching card stock for the 3 flower middles.
The leaves were punched using the Bird Builder Punch.
Small Basic Pearls were used for the flower centres.
Thanks for this colour combo Julie - love it!!

In case you are interested - Glynis and I played golf today in the final of
the Crowther Doubles Matchplay at Sandhill -
AND WON!! Ta Da!!
It was a lovely day, a great game, and fabulous company.

Not a Christmas card!

Came across an interesting challenge the other day and decided to have a go at it.
Using the colours red and green, make a non-Christmas card!
So here's my attempt.

Colour combo is Cherry Cobbler and  Garden Green with very Vanilla
The background is stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Creative Elements stamp set.
Used the Lattice Bigz die and then used all the leaf shapes cut out of it
to make the leaves for the 4 points of the trellis and the corners.
Sentiment is from Tiny Tags.
Flowers are made using the 1.1/4" Scallop punch, centres are diagonal fringed flowers in Very Vanilla
and the corner flowers are cut with the Itty Bitty flower punch and VV "knots" in the centres.
With the exception of the red pearls (which are from my stash)
all products used are Stampin' Up.

I would like to enter this in the
Docraft Challenge - Using the colours red and green, make a non-Christmas card!

Desk Calendar

Another quick post this evening - here's a desk calendar that I have made earlier today.
I like to do projects that my Crafting ladies can make to sell for their fundraising
and here's a pretty quick make.

You can make 3 of these from one sheet of A4 card so it's quite economical.
The background was embossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.
The Calendar block was matted onto a rectangle of Midnight Muse Card stock.
The flowers were punched with the Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty punches
wit Midnight Muse and Silver Glimmer paper.
The leaves were punched in Midnight Muse with the Bird Builder punch

Playing with Vellum

The biggest problem of using vellum when card-making is fixing the vellum to the card.
The problem that I had with this one, was that I wanted clean lines, so on one side of the card there was no way of disguising any adhesive.
The solution in this case was to use brads to fasten the bottom right hand corner of the scallop circle to the card.
The card stock was Pink Pirouette, the vellum was cut using the Scallop Circle die which was then stamped in Versamark and embossed with white EP using the rose from the (by now current favourite) You are Loved stamp-set.
Flowers are cut in vellum using the Bigz L die Fun Flowers, with an Itty Bitty punched flower and a white brad in the centre.
(This is how all the flowers were attached to the card - thus fastening the vellum securely to the card without any adhesive, which would show through the white vellum.)

You may have to zoom in on this photo to see the detail.
