G is for GORGEOUS GRUNGE!

I never used to like Grunge style designs at all, but after being converted to this
by my friend (and now my SU downline) Cheryl I do use this style more often.
Here's a quick and easy card using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

I used the 2014-2015 In colours here -
Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist and Lost Lagoon
I used the Petite Petals stamp set and marching punch for the flowers
(stamped in the same colours) and added the sentiment  from Blooming with Kindness.
I really like this card - I have used it in different colours for a get well card too.

Jan's birthday

Tomorrow is our friend Jan's birthday and here's the card I have made for her.

You may recall I did a similar card using Serene Silhouettes stamp set last week
because I hadn't got the stamp set that Cheryl had used -
Well this is the cased version of Cheryl's card used with the Wetlands stamp set
(which she had used on the original design.)
You could use this design with any number of silhouette style stamps
and they would all work just as well.
The colour combo is (from bottom to top) Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana,
Pool Party and Soft Sky.
The bands of colour are stamped using Work of Art stamp set
and the sentiment is from Blooming with kindness.

Work of Art - sneak peek.

Today has been my monthly Saturday morning workshop and my friend (and down-line), Cheryl
brought a few cards that she had made using the new Work of Art stamp set.
(This will be available when the new catalogue launches  on 1st July)
I have cased this card from Cheryl, using the same colours and basic design,
but I didn't have the stamp set that she had used, so I used Serene Silhouettes instead.

Colour combo is Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party Soft Sly and Smokey Slate,
stamped on Very Vanilla card stock then matted onto a base card in Crumb Cake CS.
The sentiment is from Bloomin with Kindness.
Thanks Cheryl - I love this card!

Blooming with Kindness

I am currently trying to use stamps that have not been used recently, so today,
when Chris (sis-in-law) came over to craft, we turned to Blooming with Kindness.
I took inspiration fro the layout from a post on Pinterest,
but changed the papers and the scallop border.
I have not put a sentiment on at this point, but will place one top right
when I decide who will receive it and for what occasion!!

Colour combo Midnight Muse and White.
Stamp set Blooming with Kindness.
Scallop border embossed using Textured Impressions Delicate Designs embossing folder,
then cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit.
Midnight Muse 3/8 inch Stitched Satin Ribbon. used to make a knot-less bow
(using a pearl brad from my stash)

Birthday card - versions 1 and 2

Here's a birthday card that I had to get in the post today.
This is what it originally looked like.

version 1
Colour combo is Pool Party and White
Flowers stamped using Petite Petals and cut with the matching punch.
Circle Framelits used to cut an aperture in base card.
Stamp sets used for sentiments - Express Yourself and Blooming with Kindness

And here's the version that went out in the post

Version 2
I had an accident with version 1 - I was trying to rub off a little bit of glue
off the inside with a glue rubber and I must have been too heavy handed as it ripped
the top layer of the paper and totally ruined the inside of the card.
I cut the front off the card and stamped the greeting on another piece of card,
glued the card front on top of the sentiment, then layered onto a larger base card.
Think I like the second version better anyhow!
what do you think?

Petite Petals

This stamp set is fast becoming a favourite of mine -
I saw  this design on my fellow Jem - Amanda's Blog
when we did our Team's Sale-a-bration Blog Hop,
and after asking permission to case, made this card in a different colourway.

Blushing Bride, Smokey Slate and White
I used some Blushing Bride DSP instead of a stamped image on this version.

And here's my CASEd card from Amanda's original one.
I have used the same colours and design, but changed the sentiment.

Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake and White.

I used the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch for the flowers,
and the free SAB Banner Punch for the little banner.
Sentiment from Blooming with Kindness.
Thank you Amanda for your inspiration!

Jackie's birthday card

Tomorrow is my good friend Jackie's birthday.
I have posted her card and she should have received it today,
so I should be safe in posting it on here today (that's assuming that
she has already opened it - if not, sorry I have spoiled the surprise)

The background paper is Afternoon Picnic DSP,
The flowers are stamped in Wisteria Wonder on both Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder card stock,
using the Flower hop Stamp set, then punched out with the Pansy Punch.
The sentiment is from Blooming with Kindness stamp set.
The flower centres are punched with the 1/2" circle punch
(Notice that I couldn't resist putting a cheeky face on one of the flowers!!)
Happy Birthday Jackie - have a great day tomorrow!

Lucas and Lexie's postcard.

Instead of sending a conventional postcard to Lucas and Lexie, from our holiday
(they don't do them from Callosa De Segura which is where we stayed
 - 25 minutes from Alicante,  nearest town Elche)
I decided to make them one when I got home and here it is.

Front

Back

I used the Post Card stamp for the reverse of this postcard and stamped it in Island Indigo,
Then after masking off the patterned area and border, I stamped the flower from
Blooming with Kindness in Crushed Curry on the right hand side.
For the front I stamped and punched out (using the Pansy punch) 5 flowers
using the Flower Shop stamp set,  inking them in Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry,
Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Wisteria Wonder.
I then punched flower middles in matching card stock with the 1/2" circle punch.
I then used some old (Retired) rub ons from my stash to spell "hello"
on the flower centres. The stalks/leaves are made with the Bird Builder punch.
I'm really pleased with this.
I know it's a bit girlie for Lucas, but great for Lexie!

The sentiment is from Blooming with Kindness.
