Angie's card for me

At our Quarterly Training last Saturday, I met a lovely fellow demonstrator and Jems member,
Angie Hutton, Now as you know I usually make a few different designs of swaps
and do them in different colours.  As we did our swaps, Angie admired the swap that I gave to Amanda, and as it was the last of that design, I promised to make another and post
it to her - and I have done that.  In return, Angie made me a card that I had admired on her blog
and I received it this morning.  I think it's beautiful!
My ladies will just love having a go at this paper pieced flower design!
Must check with Angie that it's OK to case this.

Here is the card

Angie - I have just added a little something on here - hope you don't mind, but I couldn't resist it!!
Have you spotted it?
Here is a link to the lovely Angie's Blog
why don't you pop round there and see her beautiful creations.
Thanks so much for this Angie - really appreciate it!!

Richards Birthday

Chris's son Richard (my nephew) lives in Australia, so when I went crafting to
Chris's yesterday,  I decided I ought to make Richards birthday card so that he
gets it in time for his birthday in February. Here it is.

I've used the Gorgeous Grunge and Banner Blast stampsets for this card.
The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned.
The colours are Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Midnight Muse.
The free Sale-a-bration  embossing folder was used for the background.

Petite Petals

Today I have been to Chris's and made 3 cards!
She had quite a few for me to choose from - it was difficult to decide which to make.
Here's the first one

Colour Combo of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit
(with a little bit of Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green))
I used the brand spanking new Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch
(from the new Spring Summer Seasonal catalogue) for the flowers .
The Sale-a-bration Banner Blast stamp set and matching punch for the bunting.
The SAB Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack Pool Party Twine.
The Bird Builder punch was used for the leaves.
Sentiment from Petite Pairs.
Now who shall I send this to?
Pop back tomorrow to see the rest of the cards that I made.

Monthly Training swaps

Today Chris (sis-in-law), Anita (Chris's downline) and myself are off to Pudsey
for our Quarterly Training Day with Our Team - Julies Jems.
We always have a fabulous day, a fabulous lunch and SWAPS!
Today I believe there are about 23 of us attending, so I have made plenty of swaps for everyone,
and here are some piccies for you.

I chose a couple of designs and did variations on them
(I have a very low boredom threshold!!)
These use the stamps,  papers and the punch that you can get absolutely free for
every £45 that you spend on Stampin' Up" products during Sale-a-bration.
(From 28th January until 31st March 2014)

Tomorrow a group of us are doing a blog hop, so do hop on over in the morning and
see more of our Sale-a-bration samples.

Hello

Hello everyone!!
Here's a card that I made to say hello to a special friend that I haven't seen for a long time.
It's just to let her know that I haven't forgotten her.

Really CAS card, but the paper is beautiful enough to stand alone.
Crisp Canteloupe card is matted onto a white base card,
then a layer of two separate Sweet Sorbet designer Series Papers (Sale-a-bration!)
The sentiment is from "Four You"
Think that she'll like this?

Wades Weekly Warm Up!!

Bit of a strange title I know, but this relates to one our Julie's Jems' team members
(Julie Wade) who has set a colour challenge for us, and I believe this will be a weekly event.
Anyhow, I have only just finished my card as it has been my Thursday crafters club tonight,
so now I can relax a little.  The light is not so good, so the colours don't look
as good as in real life, but anyhow here goes.
The colours to use were : Soft Suede, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry.

For this easel card, I used a sponge to colour the doily Soft Sky.
Stamped the flowers with Crushed Curry ink on White card and Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake card, and Soft Sky ink on Soft Sky Card.
The stamp set used was Petite Petals which were then cut with the matching punch.
The Sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners and this is curved slightly and then stuck on.
The ribbon is the Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon and is used as a brake.
Basic pearls used for flower centres.
You will be able to buy the flower stamp set and matching punch from the
new Spring/Summer from 28th January!!  Won't be long now!¬.

Burlap and Blooms Wreath

It was my turn to go to Chris's (sis-in-law) today, and we had planned to make
this beautiful wreath using the Stampin' Up! Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit.
The blurb says - "flowers for wreath are die cut and ready to assemble - just hot glue together."
Yes they were all die cut, but it still took us nearly 4 hours to create this!!
We really enjoyed making it, but got a little messy with the glue, so had to make a visit to the wash basin to wash our hands after every flower.  This could have been because we used Tombow
white glue to make the flowers - we weren't confident enough to shape the flowers and then hot glue them together- it dried too fast!!

The finished wreath

Just to give you an impression of the size - the centre hole measures 7.1/2"

I am really impressed with this - the only thing I would add, would be maybe a few leaves.
Christine won her kit at Convention, I bought mine as a Demo pre-order,
if you would like one, they are available from 28th January (next Tuesday!!)
from the Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Catalogue.

Contemporary Christmas

Here's Christmas card number 2 of 2014 - in contemporary colours.
I do like non traditional colours for Christmas cards - you may have noticed this!
Barry on the other hand detests them - he is a traditionalist -
they have to be a combination of red, green and gold.

This is a design that I used last year in blue and white - you may recall it -
Tghis time I have used a colour combo of Smokey Slate, Blushing Bride and White.
The Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder has been used for the background.
The Christmas Star and Magical season single stamps from the Autumn Winter catalogue
were used.
If you want to get these stamps you only have until the 28th of this month to get
them - then they will be gone forever!!
A few basic rhinestones and the jobs a good un (as they say!)
I am pleased with this!
All products are Stampin 'Up!

Happy Birthday Adam

Today is my nephew Adam's birthday.  As always I have problems coming up with ideas
for male themed cards, but I got inspiration from a swap that I received at one of
our quarterly training days last year.  It was a card made by a fellow Julies Jem - Caroline
(you can see a version of the card she did by following the link.)

Caroline had not had time to finish off her swaps,
so I sat and played around for a while and came up with this.
I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add some more splodges in Basic Gray
and Raspberry Ripple.  I added the letter A from the Morning Post stamp set,
then wrote the rest of his name by hand.
I then added a few more cogs and voila!
I am really pleased with the result!
(Plus I am getting more into this grunge look!)
Thanks for the inspiration Caroline - much appreciated xx

Gerald's Birthday

Today is Gerald's birthday and here's the card that I made for him.

Sorry about the shadow on the right but I took this late at night!!
This is the version that I made - using a colour combo of
Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray and White.
(I posted Jan's version earlier)
Still think that it looks classy!

Training project 2

Here's the second project we made at monthly training.

This card uses the You're Lovely Stamp set and Sweet Sorbet DSP.
The doily was coloured using a sponge and Pool Part ink.
Whoops I have missed a bit!!

The stamp set used on here is Zoo Babies, each little animal is stamped,
then punched with the Banner Punch.
The embossing folder used is Alphabet Press.

Banner Blast

Here's another project done with Sale-a-bration goodies.

This time I have used the Banner Blast stamp set with gold embossing powder
on both black and white card stock.
The flower is from petal Parade and the sentiment is from
Teeny tiny sentiments.

Here's the card that I have made for one of my downline, Ann,
who achieved her Bronze 2 Level last month.

Congratulations Ann - Well done!!

More Sale-a-bration sneaky peeks

There are no less than 3 Sale-a-bration products on this card.
When I need a card in a hurry this will be most useful!

I have used the Sweet Sorbet DSP, the Sweet Sorbet Accessories
and the Petal Parade stamp set.
I do love the colours on this DSP it co-ordinates with so many colours - you may have noticed this!!

Tony's Birthday

Today is my niece Emma's  husbands birthday.
You may recall that I posted a scrapbook page of their wedding day
Don't they make a lovely couple!
Anyway - I digress - here's the card I made for him

I just love the Glimmer paper - I think it really makes this card zing!
(and for once you can see it in the photo!)
Used some more of the fabulous Sale-a-bration DSP - Sweet Sorbet,
I am making good use of this.
I cut the little banners with the punch from the Sale-a-bration catalogue too.
You will be able to get these goodies free from the 28th of this month.
The wording on the card is my favourite computer generated.
For the name I used some retired SU peel offs.
Ta da!!
Happy Birthday Tony!

Male Birthday card

I was asked to design a card for a man for this week's Wednesday class,
and I had a swap that I had saved from Barbara Beck
(one of my fellow Julies' Jems team members)
so I just rejigged it a little and here is the card that Jan made

Colour Combo is Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake
The greeting is from "Four You"
and the little ties are from the "A fitting Occasion" stamp set
Think that the rest of the card is self explanatory.
The photo doesn't do it justice,  as it looks rather classy (imho!)
Well done Jan !

1st Christmas card this year

My crafting ladies have asked that we do at least 2 Christmas cards a month this year
to avoid the last minute rush that usually happens .
Now wanting to disappoint - here's the first Christmas card of this year -
I am totally and unashamedly in love with it!

This is made using the Warmth and Wonder Hostess stamp set from the Autumn Winter Catalogue (which finishes on 29th January - so if you want this set better get your workshop booked quick!! )
I have loved using this set and it's one that I won't part with.
The tree is two step stamped in Old olive and Cherry Cobbler ink.
I have used Heat and Stick powder to apply the circle of Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the tree. The glitter stripes are applied using double sided tape with Silver Stampin' Glitter.
The embossed panel is made with the Textured Impressions Delicate Designs embossing folder,
The ladies loved it!!

Congratulations Carol

With all the hustle and bustle of Convention, then the lead up to Christmas,
then Christmas itself, and the New Year, I am ashamed to admit it,
but I completely missed making a congratulation card  for my down-line,
Carol,  who achieved Bronze 2 in November.
So here's the card that I have made for her and will be giving her on Thursday when I see her next.

I have made good use of a couple of the Sale-a-bration products on this card -
the papers with the touch of gold, from the Good as Gold card making kit,
and that super Banner punch.
Congratulations Carol - Well done!!

Hello Lovely

As I have been playing, sorry, working with the Sale-a-bration products,
I noticed that the colour combinations seemed very familiar.
As I was tidying up yesterday I happened across my make and take that I did at Convention.

The colours on this are Crisp Canteloupe, Summer Starfruit and Bermuda Bay.
Very similar colours to the card that I blogged yesterday don't you think?
Perhaps that's why I have been so taken with the new Sale-a-bration products.
The stamp sets used here are Gorgeous Grunge and Hello Lovely.
Yummy!!

Petal Parade sneaky peek

Here's a card using one of the new S-A-B stamp sets - Petal Parade
along with the new S-A-B Designer Series Paper.

Colour combo is Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party.
I do think that these colours go together so well - so crisp and fresh.
The Crisp Cantaloupe Twine is also available during Sale-a-bration,
I think the little bow just finishes off the card nicely.

Sale-a-bration products, and this is what I arrived at.

I have used 3 separate SAB products here, and I just love the colours.
Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Crisp Canteloupe.
Yummy!!
What do you think??

Good as Gold Simply Sent

Been playing with the Sale-a-bration goodies this afternoon.
Here's the card that I made a mess of!
I wanted to make an all occasion card for a man,
I don't think there is anything wrong with the design-
I just spoiled the gold pieces with my heavy handling - you can see every mark on this
- it's not very forgiving.
I will repeat this design as I am quite pleased with it, will just have to be a bit gentler
 with the gold foil card.

I have used the contents from the Good as Gold Simply sent card making kit,
but just added a little extra black card.
I do love the colours in this set:-
Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and Pistachio Pudding,
Black, White and Gold.
I'll put a little greeting on the next one, when I decide what occasion to use it for!

Last months thank you cards

Well we are now on the second day of the New Year and I have spent a little time
today crafting with my friend Ann at her house.  She emailed me this morning,
having spotted the mistake on my New year card, so I hand delivered the card to her this morning, and we did a bit of crafting and had some lunch together.  My sort of day!!

Here is what I made.

3 versions of card

Version1

Version 2

Version 3
These cards are ti give to my customers who placed orders in December.
They have been cased from Debbi Taylor's blog , with her permission.

I have used the colour combo of Crisp Canteloupe, Baked brown Sugar, Pool Party
and Very Vanilla , in various combinations (as you can see from above)
The stamp sets used are Gorgeous Grunge (which we received free at Convention)
and sentiment from Happy Day.  I fussy cut the banner sentiment.
Grunge is not a style that I am used to, so I keep having a go at it,
and am pleased that I did - Thanks Debbi!!
