It is my "walking" friend Ashley's birthday on Wednesday and here is the card that I am sending her, using the Growing Green stampset and Poppy Parade with Concord Crush Cardstock, and Poppy Parade DSP. Inspired by a swap I received from Maria at the Leeds regional Training event.

Brights button bracelet

After seeing Monica's button bracelet last weekend at the GNPE, I decided that I would have a go at making one myself - here is the result - and I am quite pleased with it!! (Chris - my sis-in-law, advised me on what findings, chain and clasp I would need, so thanks for that Chris)

For me

Hi all, today I have received two lovely surprises.
This morning I went over to sis-in-law Chris's and she presented me with a beautiful bunch of flowers in my fave colours, then when I got home there was a note from the postie saying where he had left a parcel for me. I opened this and it was two fab stamp sets from my lovely SU mummy Julie, for my Sale-a-bration successess. (In case I haven't bored you with the news already, I got the most recruits (4) during SAB and I got my promotion to Silver 1!!
This is the accompanying card that Julie sent "For me"

My card for Maggie

This is a card that I made some time ago and couldn't bear to part with as I love it so much - but - I now have so many of them that I have to start sending them out to people - and who better than my lovely sister Maggie.

Maggie's birthday

Today is my sister Maggie's birthday and her husband Gerald asked me to make a card for him to give her - this is what I came up with- a more romantic version of the design that I used for the sympathy card. Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White, Artistic Etchings and Basic Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon were used to make this.
Hope that she likes it!

Cased (From Crafty Chrissie) Birthday Card

Chris from Chrissie's Crafts sent me a birthday card that I immediately put to one side with the intention of casing it. Now, some 5 months later I have actually got around to doing this card for myself, with a little amendment. I love it so much that I have decided that I am going to make thankyou cards for my Stampers 10 group this month using this design. Thanks for the inspiration Chris.

Yet another Sympathy card

Sorry to say that my Aunty Freda passed away on Friday evening. I have said before that I hate having to make sympathy cards, but I had to make one for my favourite cousin Linda, just to let her know that I was thinking of her.
Inspired by a card on Maria's blog
I have used the Artistic Etchings stampset,Basic Black inkpad and cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and the sentiment is from Trendy Trees.
I sincerely hope that this is the last one for a long time.

Golf Club New Captain and Lady Captain

Well that's it - I've served my year as Lady Captain and now it's the turn of my Vice-Captain Jan to take over, and my son Simon is taking over as Club Captain. They both received their Club blazers last night at the AGM, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed being the Lady Captain, but a year is quite long enough.
Now I can relax and just play golf!! (But not today cos it's quite foggy here and has been all day)
Here are the Good Luck cards that I made for them.

Just for Kath

My friend, fellow golfer and Tuesday Class Crafter, Kath, is in hospital today so I am sending her this card to cheer her up and wish her a speedy recovery.
I have used the same design as previously, but just changed the colour combo and DSP - which is Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Very Vanilla with Sunny Garden DSP.

Found it!

Well what I really should say is that Barry has found it - the battery charger for my camera that is - bless him. I have plugged it in and it should be charged up nicely by tomorrow morning, when I can take a picture or two of the cards that I have done this evening.
Tomorrow is my last day as Captain at the golf club, and at the AGM I will be handing over a Club Blazer to my vice captain Jan. My son Simon takes over as Captain of the Club tomorrow too, so I wish them both an enjoyable and successful year of golf. I have thoroughly enjoyed my year, and am now looking forward to taking a back seat and just enjoying the freedom to play golf - as well as a little crafting!

See you tomorrow.

Sorry!

Just a quick posting to apologise for not posting any piccies today. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, I an having my kitchen tiled next week and have to strip the Contour wallpaper off before then. It is a pig to get off - baby Sis and me have spent nearly two days on this and still haven't finished ! I have even missed my golf today in an effort to get it done. We are hoping to get it finished off tomorrow!
Secondly, I have misplaced the battery charger for my camera so can't take any pics until I find it - probably wont get the chance tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

Here's a cased card that Christine cased from Monica (I think) - but then its all about sharing isn't it. My Thursday ladies loved it.

Welcome baby

And on a brighter note, here is the new baby card that I have made for Anne Marie on the birth of her first grandchild - blue for a boy! I copied one that Chris (sis-in-law)had made.

Two Sympathy Cards and a Birth.

I really don't like doing sympathy cards, but had to make two today. Two of my good friends have lost close relatives recently. Ashley (who I go walking with) lost her brother, and Tracy (who is a fellow crafter and Ex Pension Service Colleague) lost her Grandad. Here are the cards I have made for them using the Just Believe Stampset.
I now have the happier task of making a birth congratulations card for a friend of mine who has just taken delivery of a new Grandson. I will post this as soon as I get it finished. Watch this space.

Whats this? Stage II

Well - is this starting to look familiar yet? - keep watching - all will be revealed.

Friday, 4 March 2011

What's this?

Today I have been busy trying to finish my swaps ready for SU Regional Training tomorrow and label them. My friend Michelle came to visit as well today and I haven't seen her this year, so it was lovely to see her and have a lengthy chat.
After she left, I started on another project - this is the start of it. Does it look familiar?? Keep watching!
