Patrick's Birthday Card

Well here's my last posting in 2013 - it's a card for our dear friend Patrick,
who you may recall had meningitis last year,  and is consequently blind.
I tried to put some texture and depth on this different shaped flip card - as he wont be able to see it.

This super three circle flip card die is one that Barry bought me for Christmas.
The colour combination is Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla
The sentiment was computer generated the  the circles die cut.
the side panel was die cut then stamped using Creative Elements stamp set.
The borders were embossed using the Textured Impressions Delicate Designs embossing folder,
and the stars were simply punched then stuck on.
We are going to go see him tomorrow and join him for a birthday drink.
Happy Birthday Patrick!!

Monster Hugs!!

Hello everyone - yes I am still around - just been having a really relaxing few days after the Christmas bustle.
I have a couple of things to show you that were made by Lexie and Ethan on Boxing Day.

Monster Hug Boy

Monster Hug Girl

They really enjoyed making these little monsters and you can still get them from
Stampin Up until the 27th January, if you want some for your little monsters!
Everything except the sweeties comes in the kits - one kit for girls and the other for the boys!!

More Warmth and Wonder

I can't believe that it is over a week since I last posted on here!!
It has been a frenzy of Christmas card making, delivering, posting, gift buying, food planning,
Nativity concerts and general enjoyment of the pre- Christmas preparations.
I have really had a good time, catching up with friends and having lunch or dinner with them,
though I may regret having enjoyed so many after Christmas!!
Right - back to blogging.
Here's one of my favourite cards that I have made, using my now all-time favourite
stamp set - Warmth and Wonder.

Whilst it's a very CAS card, I think the sparkle really sets it off nicely.
The background paper is the Winter Frost DSP stack - I have now used three of these!!
I love the colours - Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana and Indigo Island.
The tree is stamped in Silver Encore ink and the berries are two step stamped
in Pool Party and then glittered.
If you come back tomorrow, I have another card to show you.!!

Colour me Christmas

Well I am still busy making my own Christmas cards so I am sorry to keep boring you
with even more of them, but I hope that you enjoy seeing them anyhow!
Here's the one that I made for Christine's (sis-in-law) grand-daughter (the other Eva!!)
I seem to have plenty of Chris's in my life and then I get two Evas
or even more curious - two Eva Lilys!! I showed you their birthday cards in November.

I have (again) used the stamp set (that I bought for Lexie) Colour meChristmas-
I find this so useful for both children and adults alike -
plus I like to do colouring in!!
Colour Combo is simply Cherry Cobbler and White,
sentiment is from More merry Messages
and the embossing folder is Stylish Stripes.
Really CAS card, but I love it - and hope that Eva  will too!!

Magical Season

I still have quite a few cards to make that need to be posted so I have to make them flat.
Here's one that I think looks nice enough with just a couple or three layers,
and that sentiment just sets it off nicely.

Simply layered a strip of the Season of Style DSP stack paper
on top of a strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock.
Used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the Cherry Cobbler base label.
Stamped the Magical Season stamp in Versamark,
then heat embossed with Silver embossing powder, then cut this out with a smaller Labels die.
The snowflake is from the Warmth and Wonder (Hostess) stamp set
and was stamped with Silver Encore and a finishing touch  was
a touch of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details in the centre of each snowflake.
Voila!!

Heather's birthday

Tomorrow is my niece Heather's birthday (Chris's daughter)
Here's the card that I have made for her.
It's not my normal type of card, but I thought this might be suitable for a younger person.

It uses a stamp set that I received free at Convention - Gorgeous Grunge
and Chalk Talk (matching framelits die used to cut the tag).  Sentiment from Label Love.
The colour combination is  Blushing Bride, Soft Suede and White.
Happy Birthday Heather!!

Love & Joy

I'm still busy doing my special cards, but a little under the weather today -
sniffles, sneezes and coughing!!
Decided to try and keep busy rather than doing nothing.
Here's one I made earlier today.

Colour Combo is Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Silver and White.
Stamp sets - Festive Flurry and Love & Joy.
Computer generated  square sentiment on base card.
I have added dazzling Diamonds glitter, but don't think it shows up.
If you receive this card - you know you're special!!

Warmth and Wonder

As the Christmas card making frenzy begins in earnest, I am turning to this Hostess stamp set
Warmth and Wonder, more and more.  I have made several cards using this set
and will post them on here over the next few days for you to see.

The Colour Combo is Pool Party, Silver and White..
The Background paper panel is from the Winter Frost DSP Stack
The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
Don't know whether you can see the Silver Stampin Glitter
that I poured onto a thin strip of double sided tape.
I am very happy with this card
the piccy doesn't do it justice!

Eva's Christmas Card

Another of my special cards is for Maggie's Grand-daughter Eva
here's the card I made for her

This is a simplified version of the little angel I showed you on Tuesday.
Julie showed us something similar yesterday at monthly training -
this is a version somewhere between the two!
This one is less bulky and whilst it is intended as an ornament,
sticks quite easily (and securely) onto a card!!

Ethan's Christmas card

Here's the card that I have made for Maggie's grandson
(not sure what relation he is to me- his dad is my nephew)

Card closed

Card open

Colour combo is Island Indigo, Real Red and White.
The Thinlets Circle Card Die was used to cut the base card
and I stamped Santa with the Colour Me Christmas stamp set.
Coloured with Stampin' Write Markers.
The sentiment is from Wishing you.
Snowflake from Warmth and Wonder (Hostess) stampset.

Angel Ornament

As well as the inspiration for yesterday card, I came across this beautiful angel ornament ,
I emailed her to ask if I could buy either the kit or the instructions to make this little beauty
and Debbie was kind enough to sell me the instructions and email them to me.

Isn't she sweet!
Apart from the little face stamp, all the products are Stampin' Up!
If you would like to make her,

Special Christmas Card

Yesterday I started making my special cards for friends and relatives.
Here is the one I have made for sister Maggie and husband Gerald.

I spotted the inspiration for this on Debbie Henderson's blog
and altered it slightly to suit the personalised cards I had computer generated.
I used Versamark and Pewter embossing powder then heat embossed a Tea Lace  doily
to give this beautiful sheen on the doily.
The Christmas Star (single stamp) was stamped in Versamark and covered in
Heat and Stick Powder, heat applied to melt the powder then Black Stampin' Glitter
was applied and heat set.  The star was then fussy cut, shaped and glued on top of the doily.
Thanks for the inspiration Debbie - appreciated xx

Flip Nativity card

Here is my latest Christmas card using the Thinlits Circle Card Flip Die

Card Closed

Card Open

The card base is Island Indigo and the image is one from the Best Of Christmas stamp set,
coloured with Stampin' Write Marker pens and blending pen.
The sentiment is from More Merry Messages
and the backing paper is from the Winter Frost DSP Stack.
I have applied dazzling Diamonds glitter to the stars, but not sure that it shows up.
(All products used are Stampin' Up!)
Whilst my colouring in is only average, I am very pleased with the overall card.

And another Eva Lily's birthday!!

Here's the card that I made for Chris's Eva Lily!!

This was so easy to make using only 3 punches for the head, eyes and ears.
The whiskers were fussy cut and the nose drawn on.
Happy Birthday Eva Lily Walton!

Joyful Christmas

Today Chris (sis-in-law) have got together and looked at each other's swaps from Convention,
photographed the ones that the other had that we hadn't got, and generally had a relaxing morning.
Chris brought one of the goodies that she won in Prize Patrol for me to drool over,
which I dutifully did.  Boy did I want to win that Prize Patrol!
Anyway, once it becomes available I shall be wanting to do a workshop on it!!
Sorry I can't share any more information about this until it becomes available to us Demos!!
After Lunch we thought that we ought to make something, so I found one of the many photos
that I had taken of the display boards and found the card which I most wanted to make
(as I hadn't been fortunate enough to swap with it's maker).
We then set about making it - and here's our version.

The stamp set is Joyful Christmas
I stamped the poinsettia twice in Versamark on Vellum,
then I mixed White and Iridescent Ice Embossing powder together and heat embossed.
These were fussy cut out- the top one was just the central petals.
The base card was Smoky Slate.
The embossing folder is Stylish Stripes.
I stuck strong, narrow, double sided tape across the bottom third of the card
and after removing the cover strip I applied the fabulous Silver Stampin' Glitter.
The sentiment was inked in Versamark and heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.
As I photographed this from a display board, I don't know it's origin.
If you know who made this, please email me and I will link back to the maker.
I think it's a fantastic card!

Eva Lily's birthday

On the 29th of November it is my sister Maggie's Grand-daughter Eva Lily's 3rd birthday
and on the 30th it is Chris's (sis-in-law) Grand-daughter Eva Lily's 3rd birthday too!!
What a coincidence that they were born a day apart and have both been named Eva Lily!
Anyhow, here is Maggie's Grand-daughter Eva Lily's birthday card that I have made.
(Chris has made the same card for her grand-daughter, but neither of them will see it before the day!)

We got the pattern for Peppa from Pinterest and had to guess at sizes, but we just used
Stampin Up punches to make Peppa and fussy cut her hands and feet, plus the grass.
Happy Birthday Eva!

Convention - Team Swaps

At Convention Team members usually do small gifts/swaps for fellow team members.
32 of the 55 in our Team ,who attended, decided they would take part in this swap.

Here are mine all wrapped up ready to go!

And here they are without their tags and ribbons

And here is the gift in it's little presentation box

Its's a brooch made with my most favourite embellishment of all time-
the Frosted Finishes Embellishment from the Autumn Winter Catalogue.
I have bought loads of boxes of these little beauties and only have about six left,
so I shall have to order some more next time so that I don't run out!!
I hope that everyone enjoyed their little gift as much as I enjoyed making them!

Convention swaps

Here's one of the swaps that I made for Convention (I did 3 types of general swaps!)

It's a little travel sewing kit that I have covered with designer Series Paper, made a
belly band out of the reverse side of the paper, then stamped a Label Love label
in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.
I made 50 of these in various colours.

These went down a treat.

Lynda's gift

As well as making gifts for your downline, you usually make one for your roomie.
I am sharing with Lynda again this year.
Here's what is inside the pyramid box I showed you the other day!

Hope that she likes this!!

Downline gifts

Yippee today's the day that I am off to Stampin' Up! European Convention in Manchester!
I am travelling there with 3 of my downline team members
- Carol, Chris (sis-in-law) and Anita - Chris's downline.
It is traditional to make/buy gifts for your down line, so here is what I have made.

From above

side view

Ta da - inside view!!
As you can see I have made necklaces for them (and for myself)
using my favourite embellishment - Frosted Finishes.
I love mine!
I hope that they like theirs.

Winter Frost Buckle Card

Today I have been making a buckle card - you can see (as the name implies) the
fastening on this card works like a buckle, with the hinged strap going through the slot
on the left hand side of the card.
When I had made the basic card - using Pool Party for my base card
and the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack for matting and layering,
I couldn't make up my mind what colour snowflake and sentiment I wanted to use.
Can you help?
Here are the different combinations

Version 1

Version 2

Version 3

Version 4
These are all different colour combinations of White, Pool Party and Silver Cardstock
with either Silver or White heat embossed sentiments.
The stamp set is Festive Flurry used with the matching Framelit dies.
The sentiment is from Wishing You.
Did you spot my favourite embellishment - I just love it!!
Which do you think looks the best? - I just can't decide!!

Noel Snow scene

Here's another snow scene that I've created, but I think that the sentiment is too big!
(And I can't disguise it cos it's stuck on!!)
I used one this big to cover an ink splodge!!

Colour combo is Night of Navy, White and Black.
Stamp set Lovely as a tree,
sentiment from Greetings of the Season.
Other than the sentiment being too big , I am quite happy with the scene!

Festive Flurry Pyramid Box

Today I have been packaging my Team Swaps, my Roomies Gift and my Down-lines' gifts,
ready for Stampin' Up Convention Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.
Here is the gift box that I have made to house the gift I have made for my
friend Lynda ,who I am sharing a room with for the two nights.

Side view

Front view
It's quite easy to make, but looks quite expensive.
The colour combo is White Black and Silver.
I have stamped directly onto the card with Silver Encore ink ink pad using the Festive Flurry stamp set.
The small snowflake is from the Hostess stamp set Warmth and Wonder and is stamped in Black.
I stamped the smaller snowflake in Black on a separate piece of card
and cut out using the matching Framelits set.
I then glued this in the middle of the silver snowflake on the front of the box.
I then glued on a Frosted Finishes embellishment in the centr of this.
The pyramid box is held together with the beautiful Silver 1'8" ribbon.
I think this box looks beautiful and I have made it in matching colours for Lynda's gift.
(I'll show you this on Friday, once I have given it to her!!)

Joyful Christmas

Whilst at Liz's house last weekend I used her Joyful Christmas stamp stamp set
to emboss this Cherry Cobbler card with the poinsettia and the Garden Green Card with the leaf.
I put them together on this Computer Generated card base,
then glued a mat of brushed/textured gold card (from stash) in the middle of the sentiments.
I then made two versions of this with different centres

Version 1 with Champagne Glass Glitter centre

Version 2 with Frosted Finishes Embellishment.

I think that I like version one the best - what do you think??

Lexie's Birthday card

You may recall that it was Lexie's birthday last Saturday, and I sent her card
without taking a photo of it!  Kerry brought it back yesterday for me to take a photo
and here it is.

Colour combo is Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush. Brushed Silver and White.
Stamp set is Flower Shop, cut with the Pancy Punch.
The 7 is fussy cut, and the central large flower is cut with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits.
I coloured basic rhinestones with a Stampin' Write marker to make them pink.

Summer Silhouettes

I am now getting a little tired of these short dark days!
To cheer me up I decided to do a bright cheerful card.
On visiting some of you Crafty bloggers this morning I came across
which inspired me to make these cards.

I cut a template using the Circles Collection Framelits,
Then ink-dusted various colours across the aperture.
I used Perfect Plum, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and Pool Party.
I then stamped the various elements from Summer Silhouettes in Black
The first card I then cut out and layered on a larger Black circle
and the second card I left square and matted onto a larger Black square.
These were then stuck onto the printed card.
(The Sentiments have been computer generated onto the 6"x6" base card.)
I couldn't decide which layout I liked the best - what do you think?

More Festive Flurry with Frosted Finishes Embellishments.

Here's a similar card to yesterdays, but in a different colourway with different embossing.

Colour combo is Gold and White
Festive Flurry  and Greetings of the season stamp sets used with Encore Gold ink pad.
Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Frosted Finishes Embellishment for snowflake centre.
Another CAS card.
(If you needed to post this card, you could substitute the centrepiece with
either a gold brad or a Basic Rhinestone and it would still look good.)

Festive Flurry with Frosted Finishes Embellishment

What a tongue twister that is - but that's exactly what this card consists of!!

Colour combo of Silver and White.
Brushed Silver card stock used to mat and layer both card and sentiment.
Background embossed using the
Snowflake from Festive Flurry and sentiment from Greetings of the Season
stamp set, both inked using Silver Encore ink pad .
Frosted Finishes Embellishment just finishes the snowflake off nicely.
Clean and simple!!
Love it!

Wonderful Wreath

Here's a card that I made using another one of those stamps that I wasn't sure of -
now that I have used it , I know that I made the right choice.

Colour combo is Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and White.
Stamp is Wonderful Wreath - inked in Garden Green , then fussy cut out.
A small piece of Red Glimmer paper is glued behind the wreath, then this is stuck onto
a sheet of paper from the Season of Style DSP stack.
in turn glued onto a mat of Cherry Cobbler card stock on a White base card.
Cherry Cobbler 1" Stitched Edge Grosgrain ribbon carries the greeting
from the Greetings of the Season stamp set.
Basic Rhinestones coloured with a Stampin' Write Marker pen to match.
