Daydream Medallions

Todays card is one that I have made for Postcrossing- Handmade Cards
and I have sent this to Teolinda Cerdeholm, who lives in Sweden.
I will receive a card from Mia Olsson - and I don't know where she is from, but am looking forward
to receiving one from Mia.  Everyone who took part has to post their card today, so I have been off to the Post Office and I am glad to say that mine is winging it's way to Teolinda as we speak- so to speak!

A different take on this card - with a colour combo of Bashful Blue and Early Espresso
 for a different vintage look.
The flower is stamped using Daydream Medallions stamp-set ,
then cut out using the Floral frames Framelits dies.
I used the Little Leaves Sizzlit for the leaves (you wouldn 't have guessed that would you!)
The sentiment is from Tea Shoppe stamp set, the pennants and sentiment frame are from Affection Collection stampset.
Hope that you like this card Teolinda!!

M is for Molly

On the 1st February it is Molly's birthday (a friend of mine and Barry's).
She is not a crafter, but loves to receive hand made cards
so I made her this.
I can quite safely show you this as she does not use a computer!

The paper is Floral District DSP
Rich Razzleberry card stock, ink and ribbon.
Textured Impressions Designer frames Embossing Folder,
Letter M is from Morning Post Alphabet stamp set
All Stampin' Up products.

The Open Sea

Here's a card for a man - the ones that take ages to come up with an idea for!
Now I can't take credit for the design of the stamped background as Chris (sis-in-law)
stamped a sheet of this last week at my house and kindly gave me a half of it.
I can tell you how it's done though!!

The colour combo is Crumb Cake card stock
with Night of Navy, Marina Mist, More Mustard and Basic Grey inks
and an Ivory base card .
The solid rectangles were stamped with a blank stamp in Marina Mist, More Mustard and Basic Grey.
(Chris used the one that comes with the distressing kit)
The over-stamping was done using Night of Navy and The Open Sea stamp set.
The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and was stamped
either side of the anchor by using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
This was  then embossed using the Textured Impressions Designer frames embossing folder.
The oval shape with the sentiment on was then cut out by hand -
sorry there isn't a punch for the outside of this oval (only the inside!).
The stamped background is matted onto the crumb Cake card and a length
of Natural Trim ribbon (available 1st February) is then stuck vertically around this.
This is then mounted onto an Ivory (or Very Vanilla) base card.
The ladies at my Tuesday class can't wait to make this!

Thank you cards

Here's one of the thank you cards that I am sending to my January customers.
These are quite quick to do - which is as well as I have more than a dozen to make!

Other than the base card and ink pads all the products are free Sale-a-bration products.
The paper is Sycamore Street and the stamp set
(including the sentiment) is Bloomin' Marvelous.
Colour Combo : Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party.

I have really enjoyed making these - I think that I love the cheerful colours
and the clean and  simple look.

Karen's Birthday

My card today is for the birthday of my Stampin' Up sister Karen.
I should have been seeing her today at our Quarterly training event,
but this had to be cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions this morning.
So Karen hasn't got her birthday card - I have had to post it instead.
I will pop this on FB for her to see!

Colour combination is Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green
Print Poetry Paper stack (from Seasonal catalogue due out on 1st Feb!)
Stamp-set is the free Sale-a-bration set - Bloomin' Marvellous.

Happy Birthday and have a great day Karen

Eileen's card

Now don't be misled by the title of this card -this is a card that one of my crafting ladies
(Eileen) has made using her Stampin' Up supplies.  I particularly like this card as I do not have the stamp set , so that's another one to be added to my wish list - I am sure you will agree!

The stamp sets that Eileen used are Serene Silhouettes,
and  for the sentiment Curly Cute.
the butterflies are cut using the Beautiful Wings embosslit dies,
and the colour combo is Basic Black Bashful Blue and White.
Fabulous Eileen!!

Here's a card for a special lady who is an ex work colleague and comes to my Wednesday Class - Sue.
She and her husband were recently involved in a nasty car accident and consequently Sue  hasn't been to class, so here's a little card to let her know that we miss her and are thinking of her.
Take Care Sue!!

Colour combo is Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray and White
Stamp sets used: Summer Silhouettes,
sentiment from Just Believe.
Textured Impressions Fancy Fan embossing folder.
Modern label punch and Word Window punch used with sentiment.
All products Stampin' Up.

Print Poetry with flat flowers

Today it is another Stampin' Up Sister's birthday - Nicola's and here's my card for her.
It's a different version of the card I posted last Tuesday , when I said that
whoever received it  had to live locally.
This is a flat flowered version that will go through the Royal Mail system
with just a normal 1st Class stamp on it - fingers crossed!!!

.

The colour combo of this is Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse and Very Vanilla.
I have used a different sheet of the Print Poetry DSP Stack - which you will be able to order
from the 1st February from the Spring Summer Seasonal catalogue.
Instead of the raised flowers, this time I have used punched flowers,
using the Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty Flower punch.
(I think it was Laura's suggestion to put the the flat flowers underneath the sentiment)
For the centres of the flowers and the "dots" down the scalloped edge I have used
the waste produced from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border- they are so tiny!
The sentiment is stamped onto very Vanilla card and punched with the Large Oval punch,
layered onto Crumb Cake card cut with the Scallop Oval punch,
then finally layered onto Midnight Muse card cut with the Decorative Label Punch.
Hope that it still goes through that narrow slot at the Post Office!!

Happy Birthday Nicola - have a great day!!

Sharon's birthday

Today is a very special birthday for one of my Stampin' Up sisters.
That was why I wanted to use the Memorable Moments stamp set the other day -
and I messed the card up didn't I!  What I did instead was to do a stamped
but not embossed card - just until I am used to placing these stamps!!

Colour combo is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso
Base card stamped using the flourish from Creative Elements stamp set.
A mat of Early Espresso  card stock stuck on top
then I embossed the Very Vanilla with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
and layered this on top.
All the sentiments (stamped separately) plus the frame from Memorable Moments stamp set.
Happy 60th Birthday Shazza - have a great day!!

Another Summer Silhouette

Today's card is yet another birthday card for this month's birthdays
 - and I still have a couple more to make!!

The colour combo is Sahara Sand, Pool Party and Whisper White
the stamp set is Summer Silhouettes
The sentiment is from Just believe.
I used the Textured Impressions Chevron embossing folder.
Cut the stamped image out using one of the Labels Collection Framelits Dies
The sentiment is tamped and punched with the Modern Lable punch
then stuck onto a die-cut from The Lots of Tags Sizzlets set.
I can't say who this card is for because it might be "Just for you"!!

Ger's birthday

Today is my Brother-in-law Ger's birthday and I have made him this card.
I am really pleased with it.
I was inspired by something similar on Pinterest (what would we do without it!!)

The colour combo is basically Crumb Cake and Soft Suede on a White base card -
in retrospect I should have done it on cream or Very Vanilla.
That said - it doesn't look wrong.
The Crumb Cake panel is textured with the Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
I think this is really suitable for men's cards .
The narrow borders were punched with Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cut in half.
The pennants are cut freehand from some Mocha Morning DSP - now retired.
and the old faithful sentiment from Curly Cute stamp set.
Name is die cut with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Medium Sizzlits Dies
(also now retired - but it is a useful size!)
Happy Birthday Ger!!  Have a great day!

Delicate Designs

Another one of the several birthday cards that I need this month!
This one is made up almost entirely of embossed strips of card using the
Textured Impressions Delicate Designs Embossing folder.

Colour combo is Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.
The sentiment is from a Sale-a-bration stamp set
that will be available to for you to buy from Tuesday (the 22nd)
Sentiment stamped and embossed with silver embossing powder
and then cut using the Labels Collection Framelits die.
I then inked the edges with a Versamark pen  and embossed with silver EP.
Another CAS card!

60th Birthday card

On my last SU order I bought the Memorable Moments stamp set
so that I could add numbers to my cards.
Last night I had a go at using it.

I embossed the main panel using the Textured Impressions Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
and matted this onto a square of Silver card, then layered this onto a white base card,
To do the birthday plate involved stamping and heat embossing 6 separate elements:-
The frame border, the 6, the 0, the"TH", the "Happy" and the "Birthday".
I was doing OK with the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position all these elements,
but came a cropper when I did the "Happy" !  I stamped it upside down!!
I quickly rubbed off the embossing powder and heat dried the panel with my heat gun,
then tried again.  The result is a bit messy, but I will keep this card as a prototype
then I can copy the design at a later date.
Apart from that little bungle I am quite happy with this card.

Tiny Flowers card

Today I have had another play with new items from the Spring/Summer Seasonal catalogue.
A new punch and a some new DSP.
I just love the colour combination - Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green
on a Very Vanilla Base card.
I was inspired to create this card having seen one on Megan Dayes blog

The only thing with these 3D flowers is that the cards are expensive to sent through the post,
so I am afraid that you'll have to live locally to receive this one!!

Get Well Soon

No-one is ill at the moment, but I always have to make a get well card at short notice -
which when you think about it, it's not unusual is it!
We don't know in advance when we are going to be ill!
So, in readiness for the next poor soul who is ill, I have made a get well card.

Colour combo is Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.
I have used different flowers to those that I normally use from the
Everything Eleanor stampset, but I have teamed it up with a sneak peek
of some new DSP from the Spring/Summer Seasonal catalogue.

Playing around

Been doing a bit of playing around today!
(I was supposed to be making 44 swaps ready for our All Day Training event
that's just two weeks away!)
Still haven't decided what I am doing for these.
Here's what I made today.

I am a little unsure about this card.  I set off distressing the embossed areas
of the card, then I changed my mind. Hence the top half only is distressed!!
The colour combo is Pool Party, Island Indigo and Very Vanilla
I played around with a teeny set of stamps that you will be able to see more of in the
Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue - I love these little leaves!.
I matched up a new S-A-B punch and stamp-set with the Curly Label Punch
and added some S-A-B ribbon.
Two basic pearls finish it off.
As I said, I am not sure about this card - let me know what you think.

Friend

Each year, one of my  golfing friends asks me to make 6 special cards for her special friends.
This is the first one that I have made for her.
I have cased a card that I received for my birthday from my friend Cheryl,
I just changed the colours around but kept the layout (you can see some of her cards HERE)

This is only the second time that I have used this stamp set - it was one that we received  at
Convention last year - Affection Collection and I really should have used it more.
If you fancy this set, then it is only available until the end of the month
when the Seasonal Autumn/Winter Catalogue finishes!
I have used a colour Combo of Pink Pirouette, Pool Party and Soft Suede
on a Very Vanilla base card.
The flower is made by stamping the flourish from Creative Elements in Soft Suede onto Pink Pirouette card, then punching the set of petals out 6 times, using the Blossom Petals Builder punch.
These are then assembled and stuck together to form the large flower.
The Little Leaves Sizzlets die was used for the leaves, and I stamped the Friend sentiment then punched this out using the Modern Label punch.
I used the Fancy Fan Folder to emboss the Pool Party Coredinations card, then sanded the top
(look out for this in the new Seasonal ) catty.
I used a Vintage brad on top of the 3 stamped Pool Party pennants and voila!
I love this - thanks for the inspiration Cheryl!

Patrick's Birthday

Yesterday was our friend Patrick's birthday.
Since Patrick's illness in May last year (meningitis) he is now blind.
I made this card using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Medium Sizzlits dies
(now retired) with the Champagne Glimmer paper, in the hope that he would
be able to feel the greeting, even though he cannot see it.

The colour combo is Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla
with of course the Champagne Glimmer.
It was really difficult lining up these letters
(and I can see that the "d" in birthday is wonky!!)
Don't think that Patrick noticed it though.
