Four Frames thank you

Here's a quick Thank you card that I made using the Polka Dot embossing folder on Pretty in Pink Card, then I used the Four Frames stampset and coloured it in using marker pens to match, then punched out the frame using the matching Decorative Label Punch. Beautiful seam binding ribbon in Old Olive finishes it off.
What would I have done without the new Mini Catalogue??

Springtime Vintage Vogue

I do believe that this is the most used stampset that I own. All my Card Class ladies love it too! Here is another Springtime colour card using Daffodil delight and that great old faithful, Old Olive cardstock, finished off with Old Olive grosgrain ribbon tied in a simple knot - love it!!

Manhatton Flower

Here's another of the "quickie" cards that I made the other day. This time I used the Manhatton Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with the Shimmery White cardstock - don't know if the piccie shows up the Shimmer effect?). I chalked on top of the embossing with Regal Rose chalk and then mounted this on a square of Regal Rose Cardstock. Finished off with the not-so-Basic Pearls, and voila - pretty classy I thought.

Another gerbera card

Here's the second version of the Gerbera card that I made - this time in White, Pretty in Pink and black. This tiome I tried it without the background and I'm not sure whether it works or not. I suppose that if you just want a quick card then this is fine, but if you wanted a stunning card you would use an embossing folder to make a background.

Builder Wheels

Have you seen the builder wheels in the mini catalogue. I bought these straight away, but still have not had time to play with them, other than this card which we made at our all day Regional Training in Leeds. I will come up with another design and post it when completed.

A bunny bookmark

Here's another of Janets bookmarks- I found this on the floor after she had gone home on Tuesday. Heather from Thursday class wanted to make this with her neice and nephew at the weekend, so we punched her all the bits so that she (sorry -they!) can have a play!!

Daisies#2 - Gerbera

This is the first time that I have used this Die. I needed to make quite a few birthday cards quickly before I go away on my holidays and this was just what I needed. I made a few in different colourways, but I think this is my favourite. The die for the gerbera is the Flower, Daisies#2, cardstock is Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango with Pear Pizzazz leaves and a centre covered in Champagne Glitter Glass using Crystal Effects. The background is made using the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots. God bless the bigshot!! How did we ever manage without it?
I think this card looks delicious - good enough to eat - Yummy!!

Chris B's Fish

At Thursday Craft class Chris B brought along this card that she had cased - using the Build a blossom punchand stampset, and the stems off the flowers in the Just Believe Stampset - isn't it great!

Janet's Bookmarks

Janet is a Tuesday Class Lady, she does fundraising for her Church and has been on various blogs to collect ideas for bookmarks. This week she brought us a selection to look at and very kindly allowed me to photograph them for you.
Aren't they super!!

Springtime vintage

Here's the Patchwork Springtime Vintage card that Chris and I made last week when we got together. We stuck the squares of DSP together then cut them using the Top Note die and stuck them onto Very Vanilla card with Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon underneath.

Top Note from Big Shot

Here's a little wallet that we made at the recent all day Training event in Leeds - using the Top Note Die for the Big Shot.

Bliss

Have had a busy busy weekend and have been busy today with the washing and the housework - so forgive the SAB card, but this is one of the cards that my Tuesday class did last week - its one that I did at Christine's a few weeks ago.

Punched Owl book marks

Hi everyone.
Tomorrow morning I am doing my bit for the Mexbro' Lions and making Easter themed items with the children.
One of the things we will be making are punched Owl bookmarks. (Got the idea from my SU mummy Julie's Newsletter).
Because the kids ages range from 3 upwards, I felt it safest to punch the owls and the waistcoats and the scallop circles. The kids will glue them all together, add the googly eyes and stick them onto the sticks. Its a good way of using up all the scraps that we loathe throwing away!
My friend Sue was going to come along and help, but she has thrown herself off her pushbike and fractured her elbow. She could have just said that she was busy! (We are looking on ebay for a set of stabilizers for her)

French Foliage

Back to pink again - I do love pink if you hadn't noticed.
Here is a get well soon card made using Blushing Bride cardstock and the French Foliage stampset. The leaves are stamped in Rose red.
The background is stamped in Crumb Cake and the embossing folder used is Vintage Wallpaper and that was rubbed with the Crumb Cake inkpad. The ribbon is 1/8" Pretty in Pink.

Anna's quick Easter chick tutorial

Chris (sis-in-law) and I got together at mine today for our usual crafting session and made this funny little card, following her friend's tutorial HERE
It is really easy to follow and I am sure that you will have as much fun making these lovely Easter chicks as Chris and I did.
Enjoy!

Man's Owl Punched birthday card

It's my neice's partner's (Matt) birthday tomorrow and I didn't have much time to spare today as I have been to Aquarobics and swimming this morning, my class is 1:00 p.m. til 3:00 p.m. and I am going golfing at 4:30 (providing it doesn't rain!)
So here is my quick card for a 30 year old fella.
It is the same as one I made previously using the SAB Punch Bunch stampset with the scallop square punch and I have punched out a co-ordinating owl.
Colours are the old favourites, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Cholcolate Chip!

Congratulations Chris - Bronze 2!

Chris my sis-in-law has now achieved her bronze 2 award so I have made her this congratulations card to mark the occasion.
Cased from a swap made by Karen Fagelman (sorry that I can't link to a blog, but no details given) this card uses the Cheers to you stampset which I thought was very appropriate, stamped and coloured using Regal Rose to co-ordinate with the cardstock, and the DSP is from the Subtles stack.

Get well soon Jane

My other sister in law (Jane) has been in hospital this week and this is the card that I sent her. I have cased this from a swap that I received at the all day training event in Leeds, from Alison Lee, I can't give you a link to her blog as the only info on the back of the card is her telephone number. Anyhow Alison, I think your card is lovely and I am sure that it cheered Jane up no end to receive it.
The Stampset is Hopeful Thoughts, cardstock Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz and ink Poppy parade, peach parfait (background) and Poppy Parade.

Welcome to Julies Jems Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi there!
I am assuming that you've arrived here from Angela's blog and seen her excellent card using the Baby blossoms stampset and the Square Lattice embossing folder - isn't it beautiful.
Here's my Easter offering, using the Itty Bitty Bits stampset, stamped in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil delight on Very Vanilla. The leaves are punched in Old Olive using the Two-step Bird extra-large punch and the sentiment is from the "A Good Egg" stampset in Old Olive ink on Very Vanilla, punched using the Modern Label punch, layered on top of another one in Old olive.
All the pieces are layered first onto Daffodil Delight, then onto Old Olive cardstock.

Now I am going to direct you to Sharon's blog to see her latest design from the Mini Catalogue

A Parliament of Owls and a Blog Hop

Did you know that the collective name for a group of owls is a parliament. Well thats your thought for today!
Here you have - a parliament of owls - piccies of the thank you cards that I have made now that I have taken delivery of my much awaited OWL PUNCH.
I have used up some of the retired DSP from my stash to make these little beauties!

And here is the card that Jan from my Thursday craft class made.

Just a quick note to say that tomorrow morning our team (Julies Jems) have arranged a Blog hop, so make sure you drop by after 9:00 am tomorrow and view all the swaps that we made for the Mini Catalogue Launch

Ribbon rose build a blossom

Well I have just spent a couple of hours playing with the embossing folders and the Build a blossom punch from the new Mini Catalogue - but don't tell Barry will you - he thinks that I am catching up on the housework!
I am really happy with the Pretty in Pink rose that I have made using the punch, then I have made a ribbon rose for the middle of this using the 1/8" taffeta ribbon in the same colour. The two panels have a plain panel in the middle onto which I have placed a Scallop Trim punched border. The modern label punch is used for layering the sentiment on. I engraved veins on the leaves with an embossing tool and edged them with Frost White shimmer paint - not sure whether you can see this on the piccies.

Here is a close up of the rose.

Spot the difference!

Hi there - well Gemma beat me to it in posting her Mr and Mrs Owl Card, which we made at our last training event, and the punch that does all the work is now available to buy. Mine will arrive tomorrow, so I hope that my friendly UPS man will put my parcel in my special secret place, ready for me when I come back from Chris's (Sis-in-laws). Can't wait to play with this. Several of my customers asked me to order them one as soon as possible, so I sent my order in on the 1st April and will deliver them straightaway!
You may have noticed that Gemma posted her picture of the little owls yesterday, but I wonder if you can spot the differences between hers and my card. Answers on a postcard please!

Baby Blossoms One Sheet Wonder and thank you card

The Baby Blossoms stampset from the new Mini Catalogue is absolutely fabulous!
I have made a One Sheet Wonder from these stamps that looks rather like a Kath Kidston creation.

Here are a couple of Thank you cards that I have made from this sheet - think that my stampers 10 will be pleased to receive these - I might even keep one for myself!

Springtime Vintage Cheers

Here's a card made using the great new Springtime Vintage DSP and the "Cheers to you" stampset. The papers are simply to die for and I have other samples that I will tempt you with later!

Build a blossom

I've used Perfect Plum to build this blossom using the stampset of the same name and the punch that matches it. The DSP is from the Subtles stack and I think it all goes together very well.

Mothers' Day

Here's another Mothers' Day card that I have made - this time for my friend Nicky.
I have used the Square Lattice embossing folder inked this time with Pacific Point. The leaves are from the Extra large bird punch and the flowers are a combination of the Boho Blossom punch and Itty Bitty Bits flowers stamped and then punched out. Finishing touches - the gorgeous Organza Ribbon and Basic Pearls (tho' there's nothing basic about them - they are beautiful!)

Just what I always wanted!

Well it's here at last - the Mini catalogue - and isn't it well worth waiting for.
We now have... the BIGSHOT Die-cutting (and embossing) system, plus several dies that are unique to SU, plus embossing folders and much, much more.
The card below demonstrates the Square Lattice embossing folder, which I have inked with Regal Rose before putting thru the Bigshot. Isn't the effect great.
I have also used the new "Four frames" stampset inked in Regal Rose and then punched out with the new Decorative Label Punch. I have stamped in Regal Rose tiny flowers using the new "Itty Bitty Bits" stampset and then punched the flowers out using the new Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
I really went to town using a load of the new items from the mini on this card.
I haven't decided who is going to receive this yet, so I have left the punched Modern Label blank for the moment.
Right I had better get back to tidying the cubby hole and Utility room - the tiler is coming to measure up for the floor tiles later this afternoon.

The Mini's here!!
